This is a bit of a phony war.

France can't get any continuity or pressure going and the Stade de France is strangely quiet.

All of which will suit Italy just fine.

"It's a clever tactical change because David Odiete has not had to do much. Luke McLean offers a good kicking option and it gives them the option to make France play from distance."

Kerry Peter Parvin: Italy to surprise everyone and win the 6 nations?! More underdog wins.

Josh Withers: Early prediction of France for wooden spoon looking spot on. Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, France.

Adam Shaw: I think France are missing Thierry Dusautoir. Compare their lack of leadership with what Parisse does for Italy.

They called it the most unpredictable Six Nations ever.

But I don't think anyone foresaw Italy closing in on a win in Paris in clinical style.

The visitors are looking cool and calm as they play the percentages as France make mistakes.

    Still plenty to go mind.

The Keith Wood scarf debate continues...

Gav Arnold: Keith Wood's scarf does make him look a bit like Gru of Despicable Me fame, though.

    Garreth Waites: Is that Gru????

Stewart Phillips: Gru from 'Despicable Me' gives his analysis.

A superb take under a sky-scraper of an up-and-under from Italy full-back David Odiete.

No joy from that route for the French just yet.

That is Odiete's last action. He is replaced by Luke McLean - who is another kicking option for the visitors.

Gonzalo Garcia with a lovely bit of slipper, dribbling a daisy-cutter of a kick just the right side of the corner flag.

France have a line-out on their own line.

France are shading the possession, but they are being forced to play from deep by a powerful Italian pack and a resolute defensive effort from the visitors.

France call for the enormous Uini Atonio off the bench to add some weight up front.

Jefferson Poirot accompanies him into the fray.

Will greater strength in depth help the hosts claw this one back?

This is a big chance of Italy to claim their first win in Paris.

They are playing well. France are having a really ugly day.

And if the Stade de France crowd get on their team's back it could turn into a real eyesore.

"Carlo Canna has been brilliant with ball in hand. He's up there with Sergio Parisse for man of the first half.

"Parisse makes a great run first and Canna finishes it. Italy are dictating the pace and where the game is being played."

Italy jubilant. Stade de France stunned.

The visitors claim the kick-off cleanly, break upfield, Sergio Parisse picks a lovely scissoring angle, Eduardo Gori off-loads and the number eight is very nearly there.

No matter. Carlos Canna darts over off the next phase.

    And thumps over another two.

    Better from the young fly-half.

A solid contact with the back of the ball and lovely arcing flight.

Straight through the middle and Italy are back in front.

Italy are looking for a first Six Nations win in Paris after eight straight defeats.

Italy are straight back at it.

They have a scrum up on the France 22-metre line.

Make that a penalty! JP Doyle judges that the set-piece has been twisted by France.

And Carlo Canna is going to try and land his first place kick after two misses...

There has been plenty of attacking intent out there.

Maybe the Six Nations sides have been taking a leaf from the Rugby Championship book after a chastening World Cup in the autumn.

BBC Sport's Ben Dirs has been looking at the clash of cultures between the two hemispheres.
