  1. try

Try (McGuigan, con Delany)published at 16:37 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Newcastle 20-27 Wasps

    Perhaps I spoke too soon...

Newcastle hooker George McGuigan barrels over to pull one back following a great off-load from Chris Harris.

The fans at Kingston Park have found a new voice.

  2. Newcastle 13-27 Waspspublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

Newcastle look like they are heading for a fifth straight defeat.

Just under 15 minutes remain at Kingston Park.

  3. try

Try (Foden, con Myler)published at 16:35 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Northampton 22-20 Harlequins

    Cracking game this.

Saints sweep forward into Quins territory, Mikey Haywood finds the composed offload from the five-metre line and then Ben Foden does the rest and reaches out over the line with his left arm.

Northampton retake the lead as Stephen Myler kicks from wide left and we have 24 minutes still to play...

  4. Northampton 15-20 Harlequinspublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

Chris Robshaw enters the fray for Harlequins on his return from international duty.

Nick Easter makes way for him. Not a bad change for a side to be able to make...

  5. Northampton 15-20 Harlequinspublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

Northampton seem to have wrestled the momentum in this one just as Wasps look to have done up at Kingston Park against Newcastle.

Couple of stray passes out wide are all that deny Saints from running over for a score to level it up.

Half an hour still to play...

  6. try

Try (Young, con Gopperth)published at 16:27 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Newcastle 13-27 Wasps

And moments later Wasps have their second try in as many minutes, as Thomas Young goes clear following a great break by Gopperth.

Jimmy Gopperth makes no mistake with the conversion this time around.

  7. Penalty (Myler)published at 16:27 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Northampton 15-20 Harlequins

Stephen Myler has Lee Dickson holding the ball still for him on the tee as Saints get themselves back to within five points after Quins showed some indiscipline at the breakdown from 30 metres out.

  8. try

Try (Robson, con missed Gopperth)published at 16:25 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Newcastle 13-20 Wasps

After Joe Launchbury is denied from close range, Dan Robson goes low and touches the ball against the protective cushion on the post.

Referee JP Doyle goes to the TMO and awards the try.

Jimmy Gopperth misses the conversion from in front of the posts. Should have nailed that one really.

  9. Northampton 12-20 Harlequinspublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

Sam Dickinson was a half-time replacement for Northampton for Jamie George, but I didn't get the chance to tell you that as Jack Clifford stole in with the try from nowhere.

It's given the visitors an eight-point lead and some visible confidence.

  10. try

Try (Clifford, con Botica)published at 16:21 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Northampton 12-20 Harlequins

Well, Quins aren't hanging around in this one.

Jack Clifford somehow finds himself breaking through the line from 40 metres back, fends off Kieran Brookes and then has the strength to get past Ben Foden as well in the corner.

Botica slots one over right on the left touchline.

  11. Kick-offpublished at 16:21

    Northampton 12-13 Harlequins

Off and running again at Northampton as Ben Botica restarts.

  12. Penalty (Delany)published at 16:19 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Newcastle 13-15 Wasps

Falcons fly-half Mike Delany reduces the arrears with a penalty from 10 metres out in front of the posts, which Newcastle won at a scrum.

The hosts have been on top so far in the second half.

While we await the restart at Northampton, a reminder that Newcastle will be keen to secure points from that game at Kingston Park against Wasps with London Irish four points behind them at the bottom after yesterday's games.

Just to remind you of the tale of the opening 40 minutes at Franklin's Gardens if you're just joining us....

  15. Newcastle 10-15 Waspspublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

It's been a fairly scrappy start to the second half in Newcastle. Not too much for the supporters to cheer about so far after the break.

  16. Kick-offpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Newcastle 10-15 Wasps

Wasps fly-half Jimmy Gopperth gets the second half started at Kingston Park.

Our Easter feast of Premiership rugby kicked off at lunchtime up at the AJ Bell.

It had it all that game, including an 11-minute stop in play due to thunder and lightning in the second half.

Danny Cipriani had tricks up his sleeves though to ensure Sale's impressive home record continued.

  18. Half-timepublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 27 March 2016

    Northampton 12-13 Harlequins

And as Northampton go in search of a third try before the break, they spill it in contact and referee Tim Wigglesworth sounds his whistle for half-time.

Lovely moment in the closing stages of the half as Nick Easter literally kept a chasing Ben Foden at arms length.

Foden was chasing the kick over the top on the edge of Quins' 22 and Easter put a hand out and held him at bay to clear the threat.

    Calm down gentlemen....

Loose hands and fumbling by Saints, then a late swinging arm in the tackle somewhere alongside it all and another Quins knock-on as they try to carry on.

People in the crowd voicing their disapproval, but it's still the same score on the board with less than five minutes until the break.
