  1. 'We've got to get back on it'published at 13:02 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Australia 28-29 England

Australia hooker Stephen Moore on Sky Sports: "There were bits and pieces which didn't go well, we need to look at that, it's an important part of Test rugby. They put us under pressure at the breakdown. We need to tidy it up for next week. We've got two Tests so we've got to get back on it from Monday and be ready for Melbourne."

  2. 'We'll keep our feet on the ground'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Australia 28-29 England

England captain Dylan Hartley on Sky Sports: "First and foremost, the result was key for us. The way we started the game will need looking at. It's the first of three, but to get a result is a good start to the campaign.

"Great character from the boys to dig in and play to the 80th minute. It's built up for a big series, it's exciting. The scrum was a bit messy, but the line-out maul was effective for us. We've got to keep our feet on the ground, enjoy this and keep the egos in check for the next one."

    Australia 28-39 England

I know it's been said before but I think now is the right time to say it, this is a serious England side in the making. Not only do they have some fine young talent coming through, Eddie Jones seems to have lit a light under some of the old fellas. Haskell, for example, was excellent today.

You have to say that was magnificent from England. Like a top-class boxer, they had a look at their opponents in the early stages, rode some punches, worked out what to do differently and slowly got on top. A very impressive display from England, especially at the breakdown.

  5. try

    Try (Nowell)published at 80 mins

    Australia 28-37 England

Australia think they can win it but they've got to run it all the way from their own 22 to do so... Folau still motoring and he reaches the Aussie 10m... Haylett-Petty attempts an elaborate offload, knocks on and England win the penalty. Care taps and goes, goes on a scamper... pulled down, Ford kicks through - very naughty - and Nowell picks up and goes over. What a game. Farrell swings over the extras...

  6. Penaltypublished at 77 mins

    Australia 28-32 England

Australia need a try and a conversion to draw, and there's only been one of those between these sides. England scrum collapses, Foley goes for goal instead of for the corner. Ballsy... Foley kicks the three-pointer, but as it stands it's irrelevant...

Australia come again, England's defence at stretching point... Folau punching holes at will, Kuridrani is hauled into touch by Nowell and Haskell, who's had a good game. Cowan-Dickie is the man with the line-out throw and Itoje is the man who takes it clean at the front and sets up the drive. England win the penalty, Ford finds touch...

Australia were never going to collapse and here they come, spinning off the ropes and landing with a haymaker - wonderful pass from Foley to Folau, Folau with a quick pass to Hooper, who puts in a little goose-step before touching down in the right-hand corner. Foley yanks his conversion...
