    This is happening, isn't it?

Ireland are going to win a Test series in South Africa...

Sorry, I'll stop getting ahead of myself.

    Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.

Ireland come straight back and are right up against the South Africa line. The hosts concede another penalty and, bizarrely, Ireland kick to the corner.

    But what do I know?

Catch and drive, a spin off, and Jamie Heaslip collapses over the line.

    Paddy Jackson kicks the extras.

Buckle up folks, this will be a bumpy last 25 minutes.

Willie Le Roux saunters through the Irish line untouched and pops it off to Ruan Combrinck, who leaves Paddy Jackson in his wake before crossing the try-line, hand held aloft on the ground he plays his club rugby.

    Elton Jantjies converts.

    South Africa 3-19 Ireland

The northern hemisphere defending has been tremendous today (except Wales).

South Africa's driving maul goes nowhere, so they spin it across the pitch and Craig Gilroy gets a vital tackle in on Willie Le Roux and boshes the ball away as well.

    South Africa 3-19 Ireland

Damian de Allende kicks and chases down the blindside and he's on to it like a whippet. Ireland haul him down, but there was an earlier offside, so South Africa can kick to touch deep in Ireland territory.

Ireland come out of all that with a scrum and they've been superb at the set-piece today.

South Africa collapse and Paddy Jackson kicks to touch, just shy of the opposition 22.

John McEnerney: we all remember Nov 2013 & how close we were 2 doing NZ so we know not 2 get ahead of ourselves. Super stuff from Ireland!

Siya Kolisi carries into the tackle but Rory Best holds him off the ground brilliantly and Ireland turn it over.

Rhys Ruddock is patched up and back on.

    So. Those Springbok changes.

Ruan Combrinck, Warren Whiteley and Julian Redelinghuys on.

Frans Malherbe, Duane Vermeulen and Lwazi Mvovo off.

One person I would not like to be right now? Willie Le Roux.

He swings a pass out of play and the crowd getting their booing vocal chords working again.

Ireland have nap time at the line-out - Rory Best chucks it in and nobody is paying attention. They recover and South Africa sneak offside. Another penalty.

Paddy Jackson, a bandage with green tape around his head, has a go from 50 but it's just wide.

Rhys Ruddock took a bang amid all that and he's got red stuff on his face. So Sean Reidy comes on for his debut as a blood replacement.

Better better better from South Africa.

Ireland hold them up in the corner but Francois de Klerk and Elton Jantjies combine to swing it to Siya Kolisi - only for him to knock on.

South Africa out on the pitch a long time before Ireland. Probably to get away from Allister Coetzee's hairdryer.

Changes for the Springboks - I'll give you those when I can work them out.

Elton Jantjies kicks us under way...

    HT: South Africa 3-19 Ireland

It's difficult to tell how good Ireland were in that first half. South Africa have rolled over and had their bellies tickled.

Paddy Jackson has certainly been absolutely unruffled and Joe Schmidt's men are doing the job on what's in front of them.

    History beckons.

    "Booooooooooooooooooo."

I should probably stick a few more Os on that. The Ellis Park faithful let their feelings known about that, frankly, shoddy South Africa first-half performance.
