  10. try

Try (Thompstone, con Williams)published at 16:02 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Sale 31-30 Leicester

What an effort that is for Leicester and Adam Thompstone.

Somehow the Tigers winger has got the ball down over the line despite being forced out of touch by two Sale players.

Replays show Thompstone just reached his arm out in time while in the air and before his feet made touch.

Owen Williams with another superb kick brings us back to within a point once again. Eleven minutes to play.

  11. Sin-bin (Aulika)published at 16:00 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Sale 31-23 Leicester

All manner of incidents in one passage of play there.

Leicester go in search of the line through Mike Fitzgerald and Adam Thompstone. We go upstairs for a second look, but Tigers knock it on just short.

But, the TMO does spot a side entry on the floor from Halani Aulika.

Craig Maxwell-Keys shows him the yellow card and Leicester go again for the try and Sale are down to 14.

  12. Sale 31-23 Leicesterpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Sale pinned back in their own half for the first time in a long time.

Big long booming kick into touch from Telusa Veainu for Leicester goes to within five metres of the hosts' line.

Not the greatest exit from Sale and they can go again with a line-out from just 30 metres out.

We've been asking for your views on what you made of England's latest Elite player squad announced on Friday....

...I may be wrong, but I think Wallace picked up an injury for Quins last week in their win against Saracens, which rules him out of contention for a while.

  15. Missed penalty (O Williams)published at 15:51 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Sale 31-23 Leicester

Chance goes begging off the tee for the first time for either side this afternoon.

Owen Williams with another long-range effort for Leicester to bring them back into things. It looked good for distance, but just swerved too far left of the posts.

Hour gone in this one and it could still go either way.

  16. Half-timepublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Gloucester 3-0 Bath

Stodgy. That would be my summary of the first half.

But expect both sides to come out firing in the second period.

I can't imagine those dressing rooms will be quiet places during the break.

  17. try

Try (Aulika, con Addison)published at 15:46 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Sale 31-23 Leicester

Try time once more for Sale and they have a bonus point in the bag.

Pressure in Leicester's 22 finally takes its toll and prop Halani Aulika barges his way through for a second try in as many weeks.

Nothing stopping the Tongan there. Addison once more adds the conversion and Sale have an eight-point lead approaching the hour mark.

  18. Gloucester 3-0 Bathpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Most of this game is being played on the half-way line with both sides in need of some dynamism.

We're dwindling our way to half-time at Kingsholm.

  19. Sale 24-23 Leicesterpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Really big defence from Leicester continues as they hold Sale just short of the line from a rolling maul.

Fifty-five minutes played and now Sale bring on some reinforcements in their pack for the scrum.

  20. Sale 24-23 Leicesterpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

More great attacking play from Sale, stringing the phases together at pace as they search a bonus-point try.

Leicester hold them just short and a penalty is awarded on their five-metre line.

Sale kick for the corner and the catch-and-drive.
