Hooker Ross Ford trots out on his own - ahead of his team-mates and the Wallabies - to receive a warm ovation on his 100th appearance for his country.
With this match sandwiched between Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, there is a minute's silence before the anthems.
Advance Australia is lusty, Flower of Scotland as stirring as ever.

Courtney Lawes was the Kruis and Itoje of three, four, five years ago – I’m not sure he’s at that level now.
But he’s played 49 caps before today and he knows he has to raise his game if he wants to win many more.

Andrew Priestley: England on a 10-match winning run, but winless against the Springboks in 10 years. They'll never be clearer favourites than today.
Fraser T Thorburn: Although I'm a Scot, I reckon England will win comfortably. South Africa have been rotten this year, while England are getting better.

There's a magnificent atmosphere in Murrayfields already - they're expecting a 67,000-strong crowd.
Conditions are perfect and that's how the Scots want it, they're looking to play an ambitious, attacking game.

Scotland coach Vern Cotter: "It is another game, a year on. We are trying to develop the detail and preparation. They are a good team and it is another challenge. They are bigger and stronger up front than they were, but still as skilful and dangerous out wide as ever.
We have a pretty simple game plan. We are going to have to defend and do the simple things well.
Is there any distraction caused by Cotter's impending departure in the summer?: "I don't think so. The players are focused on the game."
Scotland v Australia (14:30 GMT)
Australia coach Michael Cheika on his team's controversial win over Scotland at the Rugby World Cup: "I don't know from the other teams' point of view but every time we get the gold jersey it is an honour and we want our fans back home to be proud of us.
"We are not perturbed by the criticism. We have had 12 debutants this year. We are growing our talent pool and we know that we are progressing."

I don’t think we can ever say it is bold from Eddie Jones, he has a team in mind and he goes for it.
If I was Jonathan Joseph I would be a little bit disappointed, but it’s a great opportunity for Elliot Daly.
Joseph collects the ball then makes his decision, Elliot will watch the ball fly and come in tight. Elliot has normally beaten the player before he takes the ball - he’s more of a footballer which in my book means he can read the game.

Laura Taylor is a mum of three and captain of the Abergele women's Rugby team. Her love for the game began when she started playing just three and a half years ago.
"It was the first time I'd ever picked up a ball in my life." says Laura.
"It's just such a brilliant sport, belonging to a team, it's like having a load of sisters that you can fight with then be friends with. It's triggered something inside of me that nothing else has done."

Some rivalries just stand the test of time.
After last week's action in which Wales were weighed, measured and found badly wanting by the Wallabies before Ireland upset the All Black applecart in magnificent style, how close are the two hemispheres?
After the southern-hemisphere lock-out of the World Cup semi-finals are they still streets ahead? Or have the northern nations closed the gap?
