Gloucester could be on the verge of an upset here as Ben Morgan gets their third try of the afternoon.

David Halaifonua gathers the high ball, draws the last man and findsMorganon the inside. Greig Laidlaw is back on form from the kicking tee this week and he makes it Exeter 14-27 Gloucester.

We're into the final quarter at Sandy Park.

  2. Penalty (Swiel)published at 61 mins

    Harlequins 14-6 Northampton

The penalty is directly in front of the posts and it's an easy three points for Tim Swiel. We're approaching the final quarter and Harlequins know that they have the opportunity to put this game to bed with a try. Equally Saints realise they need to cut the gap again soon if they're to claw this one back.

  3. Pressure from Harlequinspublished at 58 mins

    Harlequins 11-6 Northampton

Much like the opening quarter Harlequins are dominating the possession and forcing Northampton into full on defensive mode. Paul Hill is penalised for not moving away and the hosts have another chance to extend their lead.

So, the TMO rules that Tim Visser was ahead of the ball carrier therefore it’s not a try and Northampton Saints get out of jail.

The Stoop is rocking as Harlequins are charging through the tackles and making metres.

It starts with Kyle Sincker bursting through the middle and after sensibly building through the phases Tim Swiel makes a sublime long pass wide to Luke Wallace.

It’s a great ball wide but we're heading to the TMO to check if Tim Visser has blocked the final tackler.

    Bristol are on the board!

Jonathan Fisher crosses the whitewash before Adrian Jarvis converts, and it's Newcastle 19-7 Bristol.

Gloucester have extended their lead at Sandy Park, Greig Laidlaw lands a penalty to make it Exeter 14-20 Gloucester.

And at Welford Road, Leicester are still in front against Worcester, 20-6.

  8. Bonjour Mr Picamolespublished at 53 mins

    Harlequins 11-6 Northampton

Louis Picamoles was outstanding last weekend against Exeter and he enters the field for Calum Clark who takes a worrying knock.

Picamoles is one of the best in the business, what impact can he have on this match?

  9. Dickson v Dicksonpublished at 49 mins

    Harlequins 11-6 Northampton

At we set up the scrum it's time for Dickson versus Dickson as Lee Dickson comes on in place of Nic Groom for Northampton. With Karl Dickson taking the reins at scrum half for Harlequins we're expecting a little bit of 'friendly banter' while they're both on the field.

And they're at it again! Worcester have their second penalty in quick succession, as Ryan Lamb doubles his sides' point tally from 35 metres out.

A much better start to the half from the Warriors.

  11. Penalty (Sweil)published at 46 mins

    Harlequins 11-6 Northampton

As Northampton are pinged at the breakdown Tim Sweil has the opening scoring opportunity of the half. He connects sweetly with the ball and puts it straight through the middle of the uprights.

  12. Super Sweilpublished at 42 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

It's a bright start for Harlequins as Tim Sweil spots an opportunity for Tim Visser out wide.

Sweil's pass is on the money and the Scotland international charges up field only to be pulled down by Nic Groom. It's a tremendous cover tackle from the scrum-half and one that has stopped a certain try.

And having said Worcester need a miracle, they've started in the right way. Ryan Lamb gets their first points of the afternoon, it's Leicester 20-3 Worcester.

We're back under way at Sandy Park and Kingston Park too but no scores there so far in the second period.

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

We're back under way at The Twickenham Stoop and Harlequins have been forced into a change at half-time. Nick Evans won't return for the second half and instead Tim Sweil will take the reins at fly-half.

Bottom side Bristol, without a win since their promotion to the Premiership, look unlikely to earn their first victory of the season this afternoon.

Newcastle have been utterly dominant in the first 40 with three tries from Juan Pablo Socino, Will Welch and Joel Hodgson.

Leicester, as expected, have been utterly dominant at Welford Road so far this afternoon.

Two penalties from Owen Williams, and tries from Tom Brady and Telusa Veainu have given them a strong lead.

Worcester need a miracle in the second half to bring this one back.

In the Twickenham sunshine it's been a physical and intense opening half. Harlequins will be thinking that they should be further ahead given the possession and metres that they have had but opportunities haven't stuck.

Both Nick Evans and Stephen Myler are a little rusty off the kicking tee and as a result the match is precariously poised with forty to go.

Gloucester have surprised a few people this afternoon with their first-half efforts.

It's two tries apiece at Sandy Park but the Cherry and Whites go into the break with a narrow lead courtesy of Billy Twelvetrees' penalty.

They've been very physical one-on-one and the away supporters will be the happier after 40 minutes.

    Jamie Hill
    BBC Radio London commentator

Both sides have certainly not found their kicking boots in the first half.

Harlequins flew out of the traps but were hanging on for dear life at the end. They've become rather nervous in their play.
