  1. Half-timepublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

Four games and plenty of points = a cracking afternoon of Premiership rugby.

Here are all the half-time scores:

    Exeter 14-17 Gloucester

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

    Leicester 20-0 Worcester

    Newcastle 19-0 Bristol

  2. Missed penalty (Myler)published at 40 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

Stephen Myler misses target again and the opportunity to take his side into the lead at half time goes begging.

We have time for a re-start but as soon as the clock runs dead the ball is kicked out and both sides head for the changing room.

  3. Key few minutespublished at 38 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

Harlequins fluff their first lineout of the match with a big overthrow and Northampton look dangerous. The penalty comes and Northampton are playing with a free ball but Stephen Myler knocks-on after he is walloped by Geroge Merrick with a huge hit.

  4. Middle of the park rugbypublished at 37 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

It's a spot of 'middle of the park rugby' at the moment with both teams playing between the two 22s. Thankfully Luther Burrell breaks the deadlock with a chip through and Saints are looking to pressure Harlequins' lineout.

But things are a little closer though on the Exeter coast.

Ian Whitten has scored for the Chiefs after a neat Sam Hill break. Gareth Steenson converts to level the scores for a second time in the first-half.

And at the other end of the country, Newcastle will go into the break with a healthy lead, and a third try.

Replacement back Joel Hodgson the try-scorer this time and Mike Delany converts to make it Newcastle 19-0 Bristol.

  6. Missed penalty (Myler)published at 34 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

Stephen Myler hits the posts with his attempt at goal, both fly-halves' radars are a little skew-whiff so far.

Off the restart Harlequins' Marland Yarde breaks forward but his pass is forwards and we're back with a Saints scrum that brings another penalty.

  7. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

    Leicester 20-0 Worcester

Leicester are running away with it at Welford Road as Worcester's 121-year wait for a win at the home of the Tigers continues.

Telusa Veainu has the home crowd on their feet as he jinks through the Worcester defence, bounces off a big hit, stays on ball and runs in to score a beautiful try. Owen Williams converts and it's 20-0 to Leicester.

Five minutes to half-time and worrying times for Warriors.

  8. Evans pingedpublished at 32 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

Luther Burrell takes route one and he reaps the benefit as Nick Evans is pinged for not rolling away. It's 31 metres out and directly in front of the posts so as you'd expect Stephen Myler asks for the tee.

  9. Big D from Saintspublished at 30 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

We saw earlier the strength of Harlequins' defence and now Saints are showing that they're just as strong. Tom Wood provides the vital turnover and finally the visitors are able to clear and gain a spot of territory.

John Kingston's side remain in front by two points.

Harlequins' forwards are carrying hard with George Merrick and Luke Wallace busting through tackles and putting them on the front foot. Saints are back in defensive mode on the halfway line and Karl Dickson's brilliant box kick eats up the metres with ease.

Leicester are building up a healthy lead at home to Worcester, and they've got their first try of the afternoon through Tom Brady.

A good carry from Ellis Genge, Tigers use the ball well and Garry crosses the whitewash. Conversion from Owen Williams and it's Leicester 13-0 Worcester.

And it's all happening at Sandy Park.

The Chiefs with a double-man drive after going through the phases, and Thomas Waldrom crosses from a few metres out. Gareth Steenson converts to make it all square.

But Gloucester hit straight back through double-centurion Charlie Sharples. He sees a gap in front of him and accelerates away. Greig Laidlaw with a sweet strike to make it Exeter 7-14 Gloucester.

Finally, a little further north, it's Newcastle 12-0 Bristol with 25 minutes played.

  12. Penalty (Myler)published at 23 mins

    Harlequins 8-6 Northampton

Just as we hailed Stephen Myler's milestone he adds to it with a valuable penalty kick after Harlequins are pinged at the scrum.

The hosts started with purpose but Saints are clawing themselves back into this game minute by minute.

  13. Myler's milestonepublished at 22 mins

    Harlequins 8-3 Northampton

With his last penalty Stephen Myler has taken his Premiership points tally to 1,492 in total.

The three points pushes him into fifth in the all time points chart, overtaking Jonny Wilkinson but still sitting just behind his opponent today Nick Evans on 1,557.

Here's a man that used to be at the heart of Harlequins defensive effort on the field and now he's leading it from a coaching point of view. His side are looking strong in this opening quarter so it's no wonder that Nick Easter has a smile on his face.

  15. Elsewhere in the Premiershippublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

Leicester now lead 6-0 against Worcester. Owen Williams knocks over another penalty as Worcester are penalised at the scrum.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Bristol, as Newcastle score their second try of the game courtesy of Mark Wilson. They trail 12-0 at Kingston Park following Mike Delaney's conversion.

And there's no change between Exeter and Gloucester. The Cherry and Whites have an early 7-0 lead against last season's beaten finalists.

  16. Penalty (Myler)published at 18 mins

    Harlequins 8-3 Northampton

After Northampton's period of persistent possession Stephen Myler has his first opportunity to go for goal and he makes sure of the three. After finding it difficult to punch through Harlequins' line the points are welcome ones.

  17. Lambert off for goodpublished at 16 mins

    Harlequins 8-0 Northampton

After his knock early on Mark Lambert has failed his head injury assesment and won't be coming back. It's going to be a long shift today for Harlequins' remaining front rowers, they'll need lungs of steel as this game is being played at quite a pace

  18. Time for action?published at 14 mins

    Harlequins 8-0 Northampton

Nothing is quite going to plan for Northampton at the moment but they have an attacking scrum on half way to build off.

They're going through the phases but are not making any real ground due to Harlequins' solid defence. It's going to take a moment of magic to penetrate this Quins brick wall... can they find one?

Saints have hardly had a sniff so far.

    Well my commentator's curse worked.

Newcastle are ahead against Bristol courtesy of Juan Pablo Socino who latched onto a handling error from the Bristol defence. They lead 5-0 as Bristol hit the post with a penalty from 42m.

Despite early pressure from the Warriors, Leicester have put the first points on the board at Welford Road. They lead 3-0 after an Owen Williams penalty.

And with 11 minutes played at Sandy Park, Gloucester have scored their first try of the afternoon through Matt Scott. Greig Laidlaw with an easy conversion to make it Exeter 0-7 Gloucester.
