  1. try

Penalty Try (con Myler)published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 12-13 Northampton

After a visit to the TMO Northampton Saints are given a penalty try and Gloucester winger David Halaifonua is handed a yellow card.

Halaifonua was pinged for a deliberate knock-on and Stephen Myler adds the conversion to take the lead with four minutes to go.

  2. Penalty (Williams)published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 12-16 Saracens

It is nip and tuck in the east Midlands.

Owen Williams rediscovers his kicking boots as well, and reduces Saracens' lead to four points.

Six minutes to go now... can they overhaul the defending champions?

  3. Penalty (Farrell)published at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-16 Saracens

This time Owen Farrell manages to succeed with a penalty, and he stretches Saracen's lead to seven points.

That was a clean connection, and that one bisected the posts. Back to the usual business for the fly-half.

Leicester have just over eight minutes to mount a comeback.

  4. Postpublished at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 12-6 Northampton

With conditions not ideal at Kingsholm, Gloucester know that their lead is a useful one and they've been largely in control of the possession in the last few minutes.

We're inside the final 10 minutes and Saints need a touch of field position to work with.

Can the returning George North provide some inspiration for the visitors?

  5. Missed penalty (Farrell)published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-13 Saracens

Owen Farrell goes for the posts again, and gets it wrong once again.

Both he and Leicester's Owen Williams have struggled at times from the kicking tee this afternoon.

A few minutes ago Marcelo Bosch had an effort fall short from just inside his own half as Sarries look to stretch their lead.

  6. try

Try (Matthews, con Jackson)published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 21-7 Harlequins

Harlequins have sprung back into life, and get a try in reply.

Lock Charlie Matthews crosses the whitewash from close range and the conversion gives Quins some faint hopes of a comeback.

Twenty minutes remain for the Londoners to try and end their losing streak on the road.

  7. Farrell the differencepublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-13 Saracens

    Chris Jones
BBC Radio 5 live rugby reporter at Welford Road

Leicester had looked largely in control of this arm-wrestle, but Owen Farrell has provided what the contest has lacked - individual brilliance - to swing the balance back Sarries' way.

No side in the league is better at holding on to a lead than the champions.

They have just under 20 minutes to hold out.

  8. Penalty (Burns)published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 12-6 Northampton

Northampton are pinged for not releasing and once again Billy Burns chooses to point towards the posts and kick for sticks.

It's not been try fest but that matters little to Gloucester because points mean prizes in this business, however they arrive!

  9. Postpublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 21-0 Harlequins

Down at Sixways, Harlequins are not looking like they will mount any sort of comeback.

Worcester are on track for just their second league win of the season.

The Warriors need the points after bottom-club Bristol won at Sale this afternoon.

    About 25 minutes remain.

James Bunyan: That London Irish return to the premiership and get a good start to next season. Wouldn't turn down the British and Irish cup as well

  11. Penalty (Myler)published at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 9-6 Northampton

Teimana Harrison is providing good go forwards for Northampton and the difference in this second half is that they're gaining points more frequently from their visits to the red zone.

Stephen Myler sends over the penalty and the gap between the two closes to three points as we go into the final quarter of the game.

  12. try

Try (Farrell, con Farrell)published at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-13 Saracens

Moments after Owen Williams missed a kick to put Leicester six points ahead, Sarries get the first try of the afternoon.

Ben Youngs throws a poor pass to Williams, and Brad Barritt manages to snaffle the ball away from the Tigers fly-half.

The visitors work the ball to Owen Farrell, who throws a simple dummy and runs clear of the defence to dive over in the corner.

The England man adds the extras from out side to give Sarries a four-point lead.

  13. Missed penalty (Farrell)published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-6 Saracens

There is so little to choose between these two sides, and this time a straightforward kick is missed by Saracens.

It's right on the 22, just to the right of the posts and you have your money on Owen Farrell converting it.

But he skews it to narrowly wide to cheers from the Welford Road crowd. Given Farrell's record that is a collectors item.

Meanwhile, Saracens winger Chris Ashton is off the field after a clash of heads with Jack Roberts. He's having a head injury assessment but it doesn't look good for the wing...

    Sale 23-24 Bristol

There it is! That’s Bristol’s first away win of the season and their first set of back-to-back Premiership victories since March 2008.

They came back from 15-0 down in the first half and 23-10 down in the second half to take the win.

    Gloucester 9-3 Northampton

We've headed to the TMO at Kingsholm and he's taking a look at a potential Gloucester try.

The home fans believe that it's a good one but referee Matt Carley says no!

  16. Bristol close in on victorypublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 23-24 Bristol

Once again Bristol's pack are rumbling nicely at the maul and Sale Sharks infringe. Jason Woodward lines up the penalty but he nudges it wide and they remain a point ahead.

There's just two minutes left on the clock at the AJ Bell Stadium, room for one more twist or will be it Bristol's first away win of the Premiership season?

  17. try

Try (Te'o, missed con Mills)published at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 21-0 Harlequins

Worcester have their second try of the game five minutes into the second half.

Ben Te'o is the man who gets it, showing great strength to power over the line.

Ryan Mills misses the conversion. Will the Warriors be thinking about getting a bonus point now?

  18. Penalty (Williams)published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 9-6 Saracens

Leicester win another penalty at the scrum, this time in a central position just five metres into the Saracens half.

Owen Williams takes it on and just about manages to convert it... via the crossbar.

Not the cleanest ball he has ever struck, but they all count.

  19. Penalty (Myler)published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 9-3 Northampton

Northampton have upped the ante after half-time and gain a penalty for their work.

After missing in the opening half Stephen Myler makes no mistake this time and gets his side off the mark at Kingsholm.

  20. Kick-offpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 16-0 Harlequins

And the second half has just started at Sixways.

Worcester are on course for their second win of the season.

The bad news - bottom side Bristol are also winning at Sale.
