Try (Crumpton, con Woodward)published at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 23-24 Bristol

What a story we have developing at the AJ Bell Stadium!

Bristol's Max Crumpton crosses for his third try of the season and it comes as a result of concerted pressure from the visiting pack.

Jason Woodward delivers the conversion and with seven minutes to go Bristol have the lead.

    Sale 23-17 Bristol

Bristol set the driving maul up well and surge towards the try-line.

Ian Tempest hands RobWebber a yellow card and with that the Sharks will be down to 14 men until full time.

  3. Postpublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 23-17 Bristol

We're approaching ten minutes to go and Sale Sharks give away a penalty at the driving maul.

It's a kickable penalty but Bristol choose to go for the corner, let's see what they can do with it.

  4. Postpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

  5. Kick-offpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 6-6 Saracens

We are back under way again at Welford Road as Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell kicks off the second half.

As things stand Sarries will be remaining second in the Premiership table.

Will Leicester rue that missed penalty at the end of the first half?

  6. Kick-offpublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 9-0 Northampton

It's a sell out at Kingsholm and although the weather isn't great the home fans will be quite content at the break.

Both sides are back onto the field and Stephen Myler gets the second half under way.

Rob Stileman: The difference between Harlequins away compared to at the Stoop is unacceptable. Commitment and execution of skills disappear.

  8. Half-timepublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 16-0 Harlequins

The Warriors inflict more damage on Quins before the break, as Ryan Mills converts the penalty which Joe Marler gave away.

The hosts are in control and Quins have been flat.

Worcester will play almost the first 10 minutes of the second half against 14 men.

Can they continue their dominance as they seek a second win of 2016-17?

  9. Sin-bin (Marler)published at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 13-0 Harlequins

Worcester are finishing the first half on top, and Harlequins are punished for infringing metres from their own line.

England prop Joe Marler is sent to the sin-bin. Quins are really up against it at Sixways.

  10. try

Try (Williams, con Woodward)published at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 23-17 Bristol

... Perhaps we spoke too soon!

Bristol immediately get themselves back in the match. Sale don't take care of the restart and it's the pace of Tom Vardnell that helps ensure that replacement Rhodri Williams scores on his first touch of the match.

The conversion is a good one and it's game on.

    HT: Leicester 6-6 Saracens

    Chris Jones
BBC Radio 5 live rugby reporter at Welford Road

As the scoreline suggests, it's not much of a game here on a filthy day at Welford Road.

But the Leicester scrum is starting to exert some real authority, with the England pair of Ellis Genge and Dan Cole impressive.

Manu Tuilagi's latest injury will be the main talking point amongst the Tigers faithful at the interval.

  12. try

Try (Leota, missed con Mitchell)published at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 23-10 Bristol

Once again Sale set up the maul and this time it overpowers Bristol completely.

Johnny Leota is the man that's on the back of the maul and he dots it down with a smile.

James Mitchell can't add the conversion but all of a sudden Sale look in control of this game again.

  13. Sin-bin (Tuohy)published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 18-10 Bristol

Sale's pack are looking to rumble and driving maul over the line and again Bristol infringe too many times for the liking of referee Ian Tempest.

Lock Dan Tuohy is shown a yellow card for bringing down the maul and the visitors are back down to 14 men.

  14. Half-timepublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 6-6 Saracens

The first period is over at Welford Road, with Owen Williams missing a chance to put Leicester ahead at the break with a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

That one was for Richard Barrington collapsing a scrum.

It is a bad miss from Williams, as his effort goes narrowly wide of the left-hand upright.

Tigers could have chosen for another scrum there, with their pack on top, but opted to try and take the points. That decision backfired slightly.

  15. Half-timepublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 9-0 Northampton

The boot of Billy Burns has delivered the hosts with their half time advantage while Northampton haven't capitalised on the opportunities that they had during the opening forty.

  16. Penalty (Mitchell)published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Sale 18-10 Bristol

Another kicker that's keeping his side's scoreboard ticking is Sale Sharks' scrum-half James Mitchell.

He ensures that Sale gain the first points of the half despite Bristol looking bright and confident in this second half.

  17. Penalty (Burns)published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 9-0 Northampton

Penalties are the thorn in Northampton's side at the moment.

This time they are pinged for a side entry at the maul and again Billy Burns calls for the kicking tee.

The fly-half coolly takes the kick and adds to their lead with four minutes to play before the break.

  18. Penalty (Williams)published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Leicester 6-6 Saracens

Leicester level things up in the east Midlands, as Owen Williams kicks his second penalty of the match.

There are shots of Manu Tuilagi being helped up the steps at Welford Road by two members of the Tigers medical staff. Not a good sight for fans of the hosts.

Less than four minutes remain to the break.

  19. Penalty (Mills)published at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Worcester 13-0 Harlequins

Worcester stretch their lead over Quins with another penalty from Ryan Mills.

This one was an absolute peach, bisecting the posts from halfway after the Warriors won a penalty at the scrum.

  20. Penalty (Burns)published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Gloucester 6-0 Northampton

Referee Matt Carley awards Gloucester's pack a penalty at the scrum and with points at a premium so far Billy Burns points towards the posts.

The fly-half nails his kick at goal and doubles the Cherry and White's lead after 31 minutes.
