Ireland have found their attacking spark after that sluggish start. The home side have now made more metres (146-110) and more carries (67-45) than France, rewarded by breaking through the away defence with that Conor Murray try.

And centre Garry Ringrose - AKA the new Brian O'Driscoll by some - has led the home charge with the ball in hand.

Tremendous defence from the French. When we look back over this game at full-time, how important will that passage of play prove to be?

    Massive for France!

A mighty defensive drive repels Ireland's catch-and-drive and Sebastien Vahaamahina gets onto the unguarded ball as the whole heap comes crashing down.

Penalty for France and they celebrate like it is a try.

    France are lagging.

Another penalty. Ireland turn down another shot at to goal to go for the corner.

They have gambled on five points here. If France can hold out, it will be a massive boost for the visitors.

BBC Sport's Richard Petrie at the Aviva Stadium: The Irish supporters are in full voice after Conor Murray's converted try gives the home side the lead.

In the last half-dozen Six Nations games between these sides, only one score has separated the sides on four occasions, with the other two matches ending in draws.

Looks like the margin of victory in this one will be along similar lines. But in whose favour?

Ireland's back row sniff a turnover and are all over the French runners like cling film.

CJ Stander has a nibble, before Sean O'Brien latches onto a grounded blue shirt and forces the French to dive over the top and give away the penalty.

Ireland launch Robbie Henshaw into the France back row - a tactic that worked at the pointy end of their win over the All Blacks in the autumn.

He is stopped a metre or so short, but Garry Ringrose sweeps over and clears out the ruck in an instant, leaving the way clear for Conor Murray to dive over.

That's more like it from Ireland, that was great innovation from Sexton.

    Oh superb!

Ireland work a slick move off a line-out drive, sending Johnny Sexton scampering through a yawning gap in the France backline.

The Ireland fly-off chips for the corner to attempt to link with Keith Earls.

France's Noa Nakaitaci does just enough to ground the ball, but he carried it back over his own line to do so.

The first bit of genuine attacking threat from the hosts.

    Scrum five Ireland...

For me, France are causing Ireland all sorts of problems at the moment.

Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong is taking a moment on his haunches after pinballing between France second rows Yoann Maestri and Sebastien Vahaamahina.

    That is a kidney-crusher of a cocktail.

He is good to keep going though.

BBC Sport's Richard Petrie at the Aviva Stadium: There's a bit of tension around the Aviva Stadium following an enterprising start from the French in Dublin.

Ireland are looking for the creative spark which would spark the majority of the capacity 51,000 crowd into life but so far it is proving elusive.

Devin Toner's leg is lifted in the line-out. A blatant penalty for Ireland.

And Johnny Sexton goes for the corner.

    Wrong choice it turns out.

France second row Sebastien Vahaamahina reaches out a tentacle and dislodges the ball as Ireland try and get the engine started on a rolling maul.
