    Wasps 0-0 Exeter

A barraging run from Harry Williams right through the middle of the pitch gets Exeter good metres as they begin to run through the phases.

That is, until Nathan Hughes smashes through Gareth Steenson and they have the turnover - but looking to kick ahead Danny Cipriani kicks it straight out.

But superb defence from the men in black and gold.

Nathan Hughes causes all sorts of problems and Wasps will have the put-in to the scrum.

    Wasps 0-0 Exeter

Another penalty for Exeter, and very kickable, after the driving maul is brought down.

However, they kick to touch again. Line-out seven metres out.

    Wasps 0-0 Exeter

The first scrum of the game collapsed, we rest and then Exeter get a penalty because Wasps prop Phil Swainston released his bind.

Kick from Gareth Steenson to touch gets them into the 22 with a line-out.

  5. Kicking game key?published at 3 mins

Wasps have made a change at nine with Dan Robson replacing Joe Simpson, who started last week and kicked poorly. All-round they do have more ammunition in that department, with the the siege gun of Elliot Daly.

But Exeter have Henry Slade off the bench. What a kick that was against Saracens last week, 50 metres of territory gained through the eye of a needle. That put them in a winning position.

When the big moment comes, you need someone to step up.

The bandaging done. Deep heat applied. Stretches all sorted.

The final huddles in the changing rooms and the teams come out of the tunnel to a wall of noise. After the one-minute silence for the attack in Manchester, we're ready to go.

Has there been a more glorious sight than watching Wasps' back line in full flow this season? I'd argue not.

Unfortunately Kurtley Beale is out with a hamstring injury today but still, I mean, come on, that is some serious talent.

    Wasps v Exeter (14:30 BST)

Speaking of the 'Chop', if you've never been to Sandy Park, or heard Exeter's fans in full voice, don't fear.

Their main chant offers a polite hat tip to their Chiefs moniker. Well, I say chant... it's actually more of a noise.

Here's the club's own handy songbook.

Is there a better chant in sport than the 'Tomahawk Chop', frequently belted out by Exeter fans?

It has no words - in fact, it's more of a grunt - but it's simple, effective and certainly loud!

The contingent from Devon have already been getting it going, and I'd be surprised if any listeners can't hear it through their radios this afternoon...

  15. A Devon double?published at 14:18 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

    Wasps v Exeter (14:30 BST)

No, this is not another level to the Devon v Cornwall scone debate about whether you add jam or cream onto a scone first (cream, obviously. Who puts jam first?)

With Exeter City facing Blackpool at Wembley tomorrow in the League Two play-off final, there could be some sore heads in the south west by Bank Holiday Monday.

Yes, I too would be scared if I had to enter a nightclub with these two on the door.

However, we are not here to talk about how Rob Baxter and Dai Young would be amongst the best bouncers about, but about how they've gone about assembling the two most attacking sides in England's top flight.

    Wasps' recordImage source, .

Not only do Wasps have an exemplary record when it comes to finals time - having not lost since 1998 to Saracens in the wonderfully named Tetley’s Bitter Cup - but they also enjoy playing at Twickenham having won all four of their Premiership final appearances.

Exeter, in contrast, were beaten finalists last season and have lost their last three final appearances as well as their last six outings at Twickers.
