Get Iain Henderson off the pitch and keep him fresh for Saturday!!!! The man has covered what seems every blade of grass today. One thing to have a big engine and workrate, another thing to have those qualities and be so effective with your involvements and in my view Henderson has been comfortably the best player on the pitch.

So it's interesting to see that as I'm writing this, it's Courtney Lawes who's being substituted and Henderson that remains on the pitch.

There's plenty to be pleased about so far from this performance but the Lions have to keep the standards high as the Hurricanes look to find a way back into this game. Lots of needless penalties for the Canes which has resulted in a yellow card. The Lions have made the most of their opportunities and are making the Hurricanes pay. Ruthless.

The Lions are making the Hurricanes pay during this power-play period.

Neat hands along the line and Leigh Halfpenny withstands a big, and possibly illegal, hit from Jordie Barrett to give the scoring pass for Tommy Seymour to round into the corner.

The Scot is the Lions top try-scorer on tour with three.

    Dan Biggar's kick fades wide.

Iain Henderson has been rampaging around the park like a rabid giraffe.

It has been a superb performance and he might have a try to underline his Test credentials.

He dives for the line with Brad Shields and Jordie Barrett for company.

Te Toiroa-Tahuriorangi is known locally as Triple T. That was more Triple H as he flings his arm around the neck of Jack Nowell.

Blatant high tackle. That is a 10-minute sit-down for the scrum-half and a routine penalty for Biggar.

With the Hurricanes on a roll, this is where normally Warren Gatland would look to his bench for impact.

But Gatland was loathe to use those players who were controversially drafted in as cover last week, against the Chiefs.

Will he change that stance now?

The Lions give away a penalty for offside.

But no chance of the Hurricanes taking a quick one.

George North has clung on to keep it away from the hosts. Flanker Vaea Fifita takes offence, sparking some push-shove-and-hold-me-back.

We will restart with a gimme penalty for Jordie Barrett.

A lovely bit of slipper from Tommy Seymour as he dinks over the top of Nehe Milner Skudder and skirts round to gather.

Iain Henderson has arguably been a bit more prominent than his second row partner Courtney Lawes, but the Englishman has had a tidy game, taking line-out ball, carrying hard and hitting on the gainline. Certainly an option for the bench on Saturday.

The Hurricanes are off to a flier in the second period.

Just a minute on the clock and Vince Aso's sublime inside pass beats the drifting Lions defence and Ngani Laumape gives Dan Biggar the big Maori sidestep on his way into the corner, flattening him with a shoulder.

Jordie Barrett adds the extras with a fine kick.

One week on from an influential performance against the Chiefs, lock Iain Henderson has put in another big shift that could give Lions head coach Warren Gatland a selection headache ahead of naming his Test squad on Thursday.

The 25-year-old has carried the ball with authority, looked menacing in the rucks and once again provided a pass that an out-half would be proud of in the build up to George North's try.

Soft hands and a tough heart - Henderson could be the impact player Gatland is crying out for on Saturday.

If this is an audition for George North, he’s earned a big tick. We’ve heard a lot on this tour about the Lions’ lack of sharpness when it comes to finishing. That was a classic winger’s finish for his try.

Showing his predatory instincts by being in the right place to exploit the bouncing ball, running a strong, hard line off Henderson’s shoulder, and accelerating away from the cover defence. Chapeau too, to Henderson, for that delicate All-Blacks-esque offload.

Who has put their hands up for a role in Saturday's second Test then?

While George Kruis and Alun Wyn Jones underwhelmed in the second row at the weekend, Courtney Lawes and Iain Henderson have done the opposite so far.

Courtney Lawes has a team-high nine carries and has been busy around the field, while Iain Henderson has counter-rucked effectively a couple of time and laid on George North's try with a deft off-load.

Justin Tipuric has made the most tackles with eight.

It has been harder for the backs to impress after the re-jig prompted by Robbie Henshaw withdrawal.
