Many were expecting a Welsh walkover this afternoon, but we might just have the game of the tournament on our hands.

Hong Kong have shocked their opponents with an energetic and abrasive display, and Wales are only just gathering themselves.

Kavanagh-Williams' try and Evans' fine conversion will have head coach Rowland Phillips breathing quite a bit easier.

    That's more like it.

Elinor Snowsill with a beautiful kick to winger Jess Kavanagh-Williams, who dives over for a fine finish.

And Jodie Evans slots a brilliant touch-line conversion to edge Wales back into the lead.

We're back to 15 against 15 too as Siwan Lillicrap returns from the bin.

    Wales 5-3 Hong Kong

    Dafydd Pritchard
    BBC Sport Wales in Dublin

This has almost gone as bad as it possibly could have for Wales.

First, they gift Hong Kong their first ever World Cup points.

Now Welsh lock Siwan Lillicrap finds herself in the sin-bin.

Hong Kong deserve credit for a spirited display but, considering they lost their previous two matches at an aggregate score of 219-0, they should not be running Wales this close.

Nine penalties conceded by Wales, and we're only 25 minutes into this game.

Hong Kong have given away just two.

The referee's patience has run out.

Siwan Lillicrap is sent to the sin-bin. The ball was ripped out in the tackle, and it looked a little unlucky.

But Wales' discipline has been poor and Lillicrap has to take one for the team.

And they've done it! Adrienne Garvey slots Hong Kong's first ever points at the World Cup.

What pace from scrum-half Keira Bevan.

She collects a fine pass on the wing and sets off towards the line.

The try looked to have been awarded but the TMO spots a knock-on.

    No try.

Jodie Evans strikes a good effort at the posts but misses the conversion.

    Dafydd Pritchard

This is not how Wales envisaged their final pool match.

They were expected to make light work of Hong Kong, thrashed 121-0 by New Zealand and 98-0 by Canada in their previous two matches.

But instead Wales found themselves camped on their own line, repelling a series of driving mauls from the World Cup debutants.

But a reprieve for the women in red. Teenager Lleucu George rips the ball in the tackle on her first start for Wales.

What a way to introduce yourself.

Centre Robyn Wilkins puts boot to ball and clears downfield.

A fourth penalty conceded by Wales. Holding on, not rolling away, tackling without the ball, the list goes on....

Carys Philips, the Wales captain, gets a talking to from the referee and she needs to get her side in order.

This is not the start Wales would have wanted. They're frantic.

    Wales 0-0 Hong Kong

Wales have conceded 28 penalties so far in this tournament, and there's another one.

Hong Kong kick to touch and have a line-out in a good position, they're enjoying the bulk of the possession so far.

A good take by Chow Mei Nam as they look for the drive but Wales are pinged yet again.

Rose Hopewell-Fong kicks to touch as Hong Kong are now five metres from the try-line.

    A scrappy opening five minutes.

Wales with the jitters it seems as they lose their first line-out and then knock-on out wide from the scrum.

They're the favourites for this one and it could be playing on their minds. Rowland Philips' side just need to settle here.

Not the best start for Wales as they're penalised inside the first 30 seconds.

Full-back Jodie Evans is pulled for holding on and Hong Kong will have the first attack.
