...like the sky above Twickenham this afternoon. It's as grey as a London pavement, a thin drizzle coming down, the wind a real finger-biter. A day for two coats and somewhere warm and fireside to go afterwards.

  2. Kick-offpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2017

    Wales 0-0 Georgia

It's Wales' new brand of running rugby against the power and might of the Georgian pack.

But which style will come out on top?

Wales fly-half Rhys Priestland, on his first Test start since June 2016, gets us under way in Cardiff.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland on BBC One:

"I think in the past when we've made so many changes we've been a bit rusty, so it is a bit nerve-wracking, but with some youngsters getting an opportunity it's exciting too.

"The tactical thing is to keep the ball on the park and to try and limit the number of set-piece opportunities Georgia have. We're looking to improve on last weekend."

“Just down in the Twickenham tunnel with the two captains - Dylan Hartley and Michael Hooper - and referee Ben O’Keeffe.

"It’s a big day for the 28-year-old Kiwi, who only refereed his first Tier One v Tier One match a year ago.”

So Wales have sevens player Sam Cross at flanker, a second rower Seb Davies at number eight and a wholly inexperienced front five.

You can sense the nerves in the commentary box and in the stands.

This is an exciting afternoon for the future of Welsh rugby. But what can they do?

Let's find out. Here come the anthems...

    Shane Williams
Former Wales international on BBC One

It's a shop window and a huge opportunity for Georgia today.

Last week they impressed as they beat Canada 54-22. They play with intent, with cross-field kicks, they hit over the gainline too. It could be a really slippery one for Wales today.

  7. The who and why of it in Cardiffpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2017

    Wales v Georgia (14:30 GMT)

    Richard Williams
BBC Sport Wales at the Principality Stadium

Some have called this match the Unrecognisables versus the Unpronouncables, but what it actually is about is planning and ambition.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland, unburdened of the pressure world ranking points have exerted in previous autumn series, has rolled the dice to see who has what it takes to make the World Cup squad in 2019.

Georgia have both eyes fixed on a place in the Six Nations.

Performing well against, or even beating Wales, would be a huge statement of intent.

The big guns may be in Twickenham and Murrayfield today, but serious fans WILL recognise the significance of what happens in Cardiff.

There is no Israel Folau for Australia.

The World Player of the Year nominee, who scored 12 tries in 10 Tests this year, was given the autumn off by Michael Cheika.

The 28-year-old seems to have put his time off to good use, reportedly tying the knot with New Zealand netball international Maria Tutaia earlier this week. By the looks of the pair's social media he is currently sunning it up in the Maldives.

On the pitch, Australia have brought in second row Blake Enever to make his debut in the only change to the team that beat Wales last weekend.

He replaces the influential Adam Coleman who has failed to recover from a thumb injury.

Australia: Beale; Koroibete, Kuridrani, Kerevi, Hodge; Foley, Genia; Sio, Polota-Nau, Kepu, Simmons, Enever, Hanigan, Hooper, McMahon.

Replacements: Moore, Robertson, Alaalatoa, Philip, McCalman, Timani, Phipps, Hunt.

The world's most reluctant water boy is back in business for England today.

Owen Farrell was on bottle-carrying duties against Argentina last weekend as Eddie Jones gave his midfield lynchpin a rest.

He replaces Henry Slade in the centres with Joe Launchbury coming into the second row in place of George Kruis.

With Mike Brown out injured, there is a warp-speed back three of Anthony Watson at full-back and Jonny May and Elliot Daly on the wings.

England: Watson; May, Joseph, Farrell, Daly; Ford, Youngs; M Vunipola, Hartley, Cole, Launchbury, Lawes, Robshaw, Underhill, Hughes.

Replacements: George, Marler, Williams, Itoje, Simmonds, Care, Slade, Rokoduguni.

Today's match in Cardiff will be the first ever meeting between Wales and Georgia.

Georgia have lost all 16 fixtures against the top tier nations.

But Wales should not underestimate their opposition.

They have won seven of their last nine matches, and they've got a full-back who can do this...

Georgia will not be without support among the 50,000-plus crowd under the roof in Cardiff.

There's a healthy contingent gathered together in the lower tier cheering every pre-match line-out exercise their forwards go through in front of them.

They also give the stadium announcer a big cheer after he names their line-up.

    And here's another Wales newbie.

Dragons tight-head prop, 21 year-old Leon Brown, won his first cap as a replacement against Australia last weekend.

But 12 months ago he had not even started a professional rugby game.

He has form against Georgia though - he scored Wales Under-20's only try in their 10-9 win during the Junior World Cup in June 2016.

When Olympic sevens silver medallist Sam Cross takes the field against Georgia for his first international start, he will have played as many games for Wales as he has for Ospreys.

Cross was only invited by Ospreys head coach Steve Tandy to join their first team squad this season.

He then made an unexpected debut after Justin Tipuric withdrew at the last-minute at title-holders Saracens in the European Champions Cup in October, and then played his second game against local rivals Dragons.

That's two games for Ospreys and soon to be two for Wales.

It's all change for Wales, and you'd be forgiven for not recognising a couple of these names.

Warren Gatland has made 14 changes to the side that lost to Australia last weekend, with Liam Williams the only player to keep his place.

But the biggest news is that of Ospreys' Sam Cross.

The flanker, who came on as a replacement against the Aussies, will make just his third ever pro start this afternoon after switching from sevens.

Georgia, meanwhile, have stuck with the same side that thrashed Canada 54-22 last weekend.

Wales: L Williams; Cuthbert, S Williams, Watkin, Amos; Priestland, Webb; Smith, Dacey, Brown, Beard, Hill, Lydiate (c), Cross, Davies.

Replacements:Dee, Wyn Jones, Francis, Navidi, Faletau, Davies, Biggar, O Williams.

Georgia: Matiashvili; Koshadze, Kacharava, Sharikadze (c), Modebadze; Khmaladze, Lobzhanidze; Nariashvili, Bregvadze, Chilachava, Mikautadze, Nemsadze, Lomidze, Kolelsihvili, Bitsadze.

Replacements: Mamukashvili, Asieshvili, Bekoshvili, Chkhaidze, Tkhilaishvili, Begadze, Jinchvelashvili, Kvirikashvili.
