    Ireland 5-3 Wales

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That was fantastic hands by Johnny Sexton, you talk about getting the ball and moving it on quickly, that ball was delivered so flat. Great finish by Jacob Stockdale, the winger, but that was all about Sexton.

  4. try

Try - Ireland 5-3 Walespublished at 7 mins

    Jacob Stockdale

Ireland with a decent platform from the first scrum of the game and their forwards take them right up to the try line.

With the advantage coming Johnny Sexton flicks the ball to the wing and there's an expert finish from Jacob Stockdale.

Sexton made that try, but he hasn't found his kicking boots yet. He pulls that conversion right across the face of the posts.

    Ireland 0-3 Wales

    Rob Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live extra

Ireland defend very, very narrowly, so there's always space to either attack with ball in hand or kick into on the flanks for Wales.

Dave Somerville: If Halfpenny is going to kick like that all afternoon, Ireland will have to keep their discipline anywhere in their half.

    Ireland 0-3 Wales

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Wales will be furious with themselves there, they've taken an early lead, away from home, and they've just thrown it away by giving away a sloppy penalty right in front of the posts.

  9. Missed penalty - Ireland 0-3 Walespublished at 5 mins

    Johnny Sexton

But Ireland have a chance to hit straight-back here. Johnny Sexton with a lovely dinked restart just over the 10-metre line. Chris Farrell gets up way into the clouds and Rob Evans is penalised in the next phase.

NO! It hits the post. That's a poor miss from the fly-half.

  10. Penalty - Ireland 0-3 Walespublished at 2 mins

    Leigh Halfpenny

Leigh Halfpenny is back, with a bang.

The full-back shows no signs of that foot infection which kept him out against England and his first kick sails straight through the middle.

    A confident start for Wales.

Jacob Stockdale collects and delivers a good clearing kick.

Dan Biggar tries an early cross-field kick, with Steff Evans putting Ireland under pressure and Keith Earls knocks-on.

  15. 'Wales replacements to have big impact'published at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Ireland v Wales (14:15 GMT)

    Rob Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live extra

The defensive efforts of both teams have been fantastic up until today, but today is also their biggest test.

We talk about England's bench a lot, but Warren Gatland has packed his today, so I expect the Wales replacements to have a big impact on the game.

    Ireland v Wales (14:15 GMT)

    Iain Carter
BBC Sport commentator at Aviva Stadium

This has the makings of a classic. Wales lost last time out against England but there was no disgrace in that. Ireland escaped with victory against France and played Italy off the park, but this is a real test

There's a lot of rivalry between two New Zealand coaches and home advantage tends to go out of the window when these two play, so who knows what will happen?

    Ireland v Wales (14:15 GMT)

    Denis Hickie
Former Ireland winger on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

There's been a lot of talk about attack but the hallmark to this fixture has been about mammonth defensive efforts. Ireland are proven at retaining the ball with 30-40 phases and building pressure.

Wales are incredibly disciplined, they don't give away many penalties and are very well organised but they also like to move the ball.

We'll be talking a lot about the defensive effort. Shaun Edwards has said he expects his team to make around 200 tackles.

    Ireland v Wales (14:15 GMT)

Wales centre Hadleigh Parkes has been diligently learning the national anthem, with a little help from Scarlets team-mate Rhys Patchell.

"I wouldn't want a purist to listen to me singing it by myself," he told Rugby Union Weekly.

I'm expecting the same passion from Hadleigh as from Alun Wyn Jones this afternoon then...

    Here come the anthems...
