Right, let's leave you with the choicest cuts from an awesome afternoon of rugby at Murrayfield.

    First, the three Scotland tries...

Owen Farrell's try was only a footnote...

And our own Ian Robertson's commitment to impartiality wavered just a touch...

    Bye for now...

Mark: Biggest problem England had was once they were behind they couldn't conjure the kind of emotion the Celts can.

Mark Daniels: Nigel Owens was inconsistent at best? Normally I think he’s very good but not happy with him today.

David Sole, who skippered Scotland to that famous win over England in 1990, enjoyed that one.

His team's win was all blood, guts and stubborness.

This one was a little bit more slick.

Anon: When Scotland do that against everyone else and not just their usual superhuman effort against England, then they will truly be worthy of the praise being heaped on them. Bet they don't turn up against Ireland.

Anon: England gave away 10 penalties vs Wales. And 13 against Scotland. Don't moan about the refs, sort out your indiscipline.

So where does this leave the race for the Six Nations title?

Well. Scotland's victory, and England's failure to pick up even a losing bonus point will have caused cheers across the Irish Sea.

After their own win over Wales earlier today, Ireland are five points clear at the top.

They travel to Twickenham to face England on the final day though and have Scotland on home turf in the next round in a fortnight's time.

England travel to France in the next round, while Scotland will finish their campaign off with a trip to Italy.

Pick the bones out of that.

Anon: Well deserved by a fantastic Scotland, but a few of those Nigel Owens calls made the game, and it's hard given how they went each way to not feel it was inconsistent refereeing at best.

John Murdoch: Well done Scotland. The wheels have been convincingly ripped off that low swinging chariot. “The Flowers”are blooming again!

I think Scotland are very hard to defend against, because with Finn Russell plays like that they're very unpredictable. Ireland will hope the Russell of the first two rounds shows up, because if he plays like he did today, he'll be very difficult to stop.

England coach Eddie Jones on BBC Radio 5 live: "Scotland were too good and played some great rugby. They got a jump on us in the first half and we couldn't get it back.

"They found holes in our defence and dominated the breakdown.

"It's a great lesson. We have to improve our breakdown work, our spacing in defence and how to play with intensity right from the start.

"Human beings aren't robots. We prepare to be intense and aggressive but for some reason we weren't."

Alex Smith: Fair play to Scotland, much the better team and deserve to take the Calcutta Cup home. Barclay was absolutely outstanding, true leader! Robshaw the only English man to enhance their reputation today. We go again!

James Dwyer: Arrogance and complacency are still England's biggest issues. Showed today as they completely underestimated a brilliant Scotland team.

England captain Dylan Hartley on Radio 5 live: "Full credit to Scotland. Our dressing room is very quiet but we have to pick ourselves up and move on.

"Scotland dominated form the start and we were a bit passive - at the breakdown especially. We have to look at that. We were poor and gave them a lead.

"We didn't match their intensity. It's very raw at the moment and this has to be part of our journey. We have to learn from this."
