Wasps get a foothold in the Exeter 22 and unload the heavy artillery. Joe Launchbury and Tommy Taylor bash their way forward.

Dan Robson has a snipe. Held-up... then Nathan Hughes just launches his huge frame over the stripe and Wasps go in front.

    What a contest.

    Wasps 14-21 Exeter

Phew. What a breakneck pace we've had at the Ricoh. Frenetic stuff.

We have seen the very best of Exeter at times after a really hot Wasps start.

Wasps though have gone from striking at the Chiefs, to just desperately clearing their lines.

But that's two scrum pens in quick succession. Is this an opportunity to hit Exeter where it hurts?

    Wasps 14-21 Exeter

Wasps well and truly under the pump now, the penalty count is hurting them hugely.

Exeter get another position, another rumbling, thunderous maul. Held-up.

Now time for a 5m scrum! Wasps survive! Forcing the penalty with a huge shunt. Big boost for the pack.

    Natasha Hunt
England World Cup winning scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Henry Slade is so dangerous, he always runs with the ball in two hands, good footwork and great acceleration.

That was a brilliant finish and great to see him on the scoreboard but it was poor defence from Wasps.

Exeter, who are starting to boss the ruck area now, show their class with the ball in hand as a sliding move away to the right is finished off by Henry Slade with a scything dummy.

Wasps enthusiasm gets the better of them, should have held their line, but Slade exploited the 'dog-leg' beautifully.

    Wasps 14-14 Exeter

Exeter have just lifted the tempo and Wasps have been made to work hard.

How much has it taken out of them energy wise?

There's a scrum, and Wasps look to release the considerable bulk of Nathan Hughes.

Exeter get it back. Finely poised.

    Wasps 14-14 Exeter

Exeter really testing out the mettle of the Wasps defence but somehow they hold firm under the extreme pressure.

Christian Wade's work at the breakdown brought about the turnover. Pleasing defensive win for Wasps.

Wasps were completely scattered by the Exeter maul, and once again at the heart of it is Sam Simmonds to plunge in with the ball.

Exeter drifted across field before straightening up, and once it was rolling Wasps just fell away. Power in full effect. We have a ball game and a half here.

Exeter turn the screw in response. They got a penalty which Henry Slade scudded to touch.

Line-out, maul... problems here for Wasps. Sacked. Another penalty...
