What a response?! Christian Wade gathered the restart, and again Wasps showed attacking vision - this time through new fly-half Billy Searle.

He spotted acres of space in behind the Exeter right edge defence, threaded a great kick and it was finished off by Josh Bassett.

Searle added the extras, what a flying start to this game!

Exeter do make the position count, and it wasn't from the set-piece move.

The Chiefs maul was held up and the ball was sublimely switched across field from left to right, great late hands freeing up Santiago Cordero, who stepped across brilliantly.

Super try to get the Chiefs back in it.

So, the time has come. The repeat of the 2017 Premiership final is about to go.

Our referee Christophe Ridley is a relative newbie, as although he is a former player it's only his seventh game in charge in the middle. He draws on his whistle and in the raucous Ricoh atmosphere, we're under way.

“I’ve just seen Geordan Murphy walking around the stands looking really relaxed.

“I had a chat [with him] saying, ‘I imagine you’ve been asked the same questions a lot this week?’

"He said, ‘yeah you wouldn’t believe it. My phone has been melting'.

“But he really was relaxed, really confident in how he’s talking and wants the guys to go out and just express themselves.

“They know they’ve underperformed and he’s certainly someone who knows this club inside and out and he’s just telling them to go back out and enjoy it.”
