Glasgow 3-3 Edinburgh
Edinburgh build some nice phase play and whip it wide left where their big South African wing Duhan Van der Merwe is waiting. He charges for the line but he's superbly taken into touch. There was an advantage being played for offside though, so back we come for the penalty.

Quote MessageGlasgow are running a pod of three players off each of these rucks but it is actually being met by a very good defensive alignment from Edinburgh. Glasgow's game is all about pace and they are not being allowed to generate it
Glasgow 3-3 Edinburgh
Glasgow seem to win the penalty from the maul, but it's reversed after Callum Gibbins slaps Grant Gilchrist patronisingly on the head. Edinburgh win another penalty and they have a lineout five metres out.
Glasgow 3-3 Edinburgh
And the young fly-half knocks it over. We're all square here after the opening quarter.

Glasgow 0-3 Edinburgh
Glasgow have a penalty just inside their own half after a ruck infringement. Just before that Blair Kinghorn tackled Adam Hastings and the young full-back didn't seem to use his arms. The referee has given him a warning.
Glasgow 0-3 Edinburgh
Dave Rennie bemoaned Glasgow's lack of killer instinct last week and Stuart Hogg has just thrown a huge looping pass which is easily cut out by the Edinburgh defence. It was a good opportunity wasted after building some pressure from the line-out.
Glasgow 0-3 Edinburgh
Glasgow get on the attack after Tommy Seymour breaks through and releases Stuart Hogg, but Edinburgh's scramble defence is good. Glasgow though now have a penalty after a high tackle by Jaco van der Walt on Adam Hastings. They've opted to kick for the corner.

Quote MessageWhat's the penalty for? The referee didn't give a signal to say why. Edinburgh were pushing a bit harder but there has to be a competition. It is just a rubbish penalty.
Glasgow 0-3 Edinburgh
Glasgow win a turnover from the kick-off but Alex Dunbar is pinged for holding on at the ruck, and Edinburgh clear the penalty downfield.
Glasgow 0-3 Edinburgh
Edinburgh get the penalty at the scrum in a kickable position, and Jaco Van der Walt lines it up. Ahe South African fly-half nails it from the 10m line. Edinburgh edge in front.
Glasgow 0-0 Edinburgh
There's already a bit of spice here as Scotland second-rows Grant Gilchrist for Edinburgh, and Glasgow's Tim Swinson grapple each other on the floor. We now have a scrum...

It's fair to say Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill is right up for this.
Cockerill has told BBC Scotland he "takes umbrage with the view that it was all about how poor Glasgow played" in Edinburgh's 23-7 win at Murrayfield a week ago.
"Just because we don't allow them to do what they want doesn't mean we didn't play well," the head coach said. "We put them under pressure with good set-piece and good defence and they couldn't cope with it.
"They are going to come at us and I guarantee we are going to go at them. We know what is coming, so do they, so let's get it on.
"I am looking forward to seeing how we cope with it. It wouldn't be a surprise to me if we win this game. They are a good team but so are we. We are not going to sit in the shadows of Glasgow any longer."

Despite making six changes to his side, Glasgow head coach Dave Rennie says they don't need to alter much in terms of the performance.
"We weren't far off the mark last week; it's just about being sharper this week," he told BBC Scotland. "If we can get our noses in front and force them to actually play some footy, that'll be a challenge for them."
On selecting Alex Dunbar for the first time since October, Rennie said: "Alex is a big man and he carries hard and we want to him to create a bit of go-forward for us. It's a pretty log-jammed midfield. We've got a lot of depth and a lot of talent there. He gets his chance today and he's pretty excited."
Glasgow v Edinburgh (15:00)
Fly-half Adam Hastings, 22, has had a stellar season with Glasgow, so much so the departure of Finn Russell has barely been noticed.
But it was his two passes which were picked off by Duhan van der Merwe last week to give Edinburgh the win.
Head coach Dave Rennie was confident Hastings would 'bounce back' after being replaced last week following his errors. Will he be back to his best this afternoon?
Glasgow v Edinburgh (15:00)
Edinburgh's victory at Murrayfield last Saturday was their sixth in the last eight meetings between the two inter-city rivals since the start of the 2016-17 season.
The capital side have only won twice in Glasgow since the 1872 Cup series was relaunched in 2007, but both those victories have come in the last two years - in January 2016 and May 2017 - the latter spoiling the party for Gregor Townsend's last game as Warriors head coach.
