Brilliant score by the French. Nick Grigg takes down Antoine Dupont but France have the composure and it's wonderful counter-attacking rugby. One of the criticisms of this French team so far is that they haven't had a clear plan, but it's evident today and they are working well. Dupont is working with his front five to drive at the heart of the Scottish defence.

Converted try - France 7-0 Scotlandpublished at 14 mins

    Romain Ntamack

What a score! That's the French rugby we all want to see! A stunning counterattack score from the home side, who sear a good 80m to cross the whitewash.

Thomas Ramos kicks it all off, collecting a kick on the edge of his own 22 and racing away up the right flank.

Ramos gives it to Penaud, who sends it inside to Antoine Dupont.

A phenomenal cover tackle from Nick Grigg brings the scrum-half down, but on the next phase, Romain Ntamack has acres of room to plunge over.

Fantastic try. Ramos adds the extras for a 7-0 lead.

  3. Ritchie's redemptionpublished at 13 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Jamie Ritchie makes amends almost immediately.

Again, France power their way towards the Scottish line, but Ritchie and Grant Gilchrist get over ball and win the penalty, relieving the pressure.

  4. France attack againpublished at 11 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

France win their first penalty of the game as Jamie Ritchie flies in beyond the ball and off his feet in an attempt to win a turnover.

The home side go for the corner and they'll have another attack inside the Scottish 22.

The crowd in this stadium are furious with that decision to rule out Damien Penaud’s try.

Their anger was heightened by the big screens not showing a clear view of the knock-on, leaving them unsure as to why exactly their team is not currently leading.

What a great attack that was from the turnover, just how France play the game, keeping the ball alive after a number of defensive sets.

We see just how dangerous France are from deep in their own half. Scotland going through phases, not really making any yardage. The phase before they score, the off-load from the big second-row Lambey was outstanding just to keep them on the front foot.

    France 0-0 Scotland

The replays show Antoine Dupont made the merest fumble forward as he dug the ball out of the ruck to send Penaud over.

    A let-off for Scotland.

France look very tasty here and the crowd are loving it.

  9. Try reviewpublished at 7 mins

    Damian Penaud

Eleven Scottish phases come to naught. They never looked like breaking through a hugely powerful French defence.

Nick Grigg spills the ball and France counter up the left with Yoann Huget.

Thomas Ramos kicks over the top into the Scottish 22 and Blair Kinghorn can't hold it.

France power forward, Bastareaud is held up just short, but on the next phase, Damian Penaud dives over in the corner.

We're checking with the TMO as there are suspicions of a knock-on in the build-up...

  10. Dynamic Dellpublished at 5 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Excellent work from Allan Dell, who grapples the ball right out of the hands of a French ball-carrier.

Scotland attacking on the home side's 10m line.

  11. Scotland stand firmpublished at 3 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Lively start from the home side, who burgle the Scottish line-out and launch an attack of their own.

It culminates with Ntamack stabbing a kick into touch at the corner.

Scotland gather the line-out and exit brilliantly with a powerful maul that earns them their second penalty in the opening three minutes.

Scotland can't give anything easy to France. This French team are not very accurate at kicking goals - or certainly they haven't been so far this Six Nations - but that doesn't mean Scotland can give away penalties. They have to be really accurate at the breakdown.

  13. Postpublished at 2 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Sean Maitland gathers the restart and does well to cling on to the ball as he gets melted by Damian Penaud.

The France wing timed that hit perfectly on his opposite man but France infringe at the ruck and Scotland boot clear with a penalty.

Injured Scotland fly-half Finn Russell, who plays his club rugby in Paris, misses this game after suffering a brain injury on duty with Racing 92 on Sunday.

"It's very frustrating [to miss the game] and I don't think I would have been far off but with the regulations around concussion it wasn't worth the risk," he said.

"I am here to help out the boys and I will have an iPad on the bench trying to analyse the game.

"French rugby can be up and down. They should have beaten Wales but England played really well. It's great weather and despite the recent results, France will have a lot of confidence in the backs and they will be up for it."
