Jake Ball's eyes lit up but had he thrown it through the hands Wales were in.

  2. Wales commit stunning butcherypublished at 65 mins

    Scotland 11-15 Wales

Oh my, that's a quite incredible error from Scotland and a dreadful bit of butchery by Wales.

Adam Hastings pops a ball to nobody and Josh Adams hacks it towards the Scottish line. He gathers, but the bounce forces him wide. Davies takes it on and when the ball is recycled, a try will surely come...

Jake Ball goes himself rather than releasing the unmarked men outside him...then Adams himself spills forward with the line metres away.

    A massive let-off for Scotland.

  3. Scotland frustrate againpublished at 64 mins

    Scotland 11-15 Wales

Scotland revert to type from that line-out, spilling the ball forward.

Wales get it back and clear downfield, but Peter Horne sends a nice touch-finder in behind the defence to give Wales a line-out just outside their own 22.

Scotland then concede infuriating free-kick at the set-piece and that takes the pressure right off.

I thought that was coming. Darcy Graham deserved that - he is one energetic player so it's just rewards for the young fella there.

  6. Scotland are snarling nowpublished at 61 mins

    Scotland 11-15 Wales

Scotland look a different team now. They break out of their own 22 with a clever grubber kick in behind the blitz defence from Russell. McGuigan hacks it on, Parkes rescues it, but the Scottish chasers thunder in and win a penalty.

To the corner they go. Ten metres out...

  7. 'Electric' Graham gets his rewardpublished at 61 mins

    Quote Message

Darcy Graham has been electric. He gets his first try and it's a wonderful move. Hadleigh Parkes didn't make the tackle and it gave Scotland the space to exploit.

  8. 'What a great piece of play'published at 60 mins

    Scotland 11-15 Wales

    John Barclay
Injured Scotland captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a great piece of play. The variety to that was the great thing. They played the ball right on top of the Welsh defence and it was a lovely inside pass to Byron McGuigan who has been really dangerous and really hungry since coming on.

  9. try

Try Scotland 11-15 Walespublished at 59 mins

    Darcy Graham

Stunning. Simply stunning. A first Scotland try for Darcy Graham and it's incredible.

A glorious first-phase move as McGuigan sears off his wing from the left and takes a delicious tipped inside ball from Russell.

The replacement gives it to Hastings, who sends Graham in for a cracking try.

Russell can't add the conversion from wide on the right but Scotland are back within a score.

Merf Owen: BA plane delayed an hour at the gate... means I get to livestream the second half. This is the kind of luck the Scots are going to need!

Stuart, Solihull: We have seen the mantle of best lock forward in the world over the last 16 years passed from Johnson to O'Connell and now Wyn Jones. The man is absolutely immense and a leader of men.

  11. Scots profit from harem-scarem passagepublished at 58 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

It's all getting a bit loose and frantic now and that might suit Scotland. Wales kick it away and the home side try to counter.

Byron McGuigan takes a quick line-out to Finn Russell and away they come.

Ali Price snipes round the fringe and is caught in something of a judo head-lock by George North. Penalty Scotland, and they kick play - yet again - into the Welsh 22.

  12. Scotland 'deserve credit'published at 56 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

    Philippa Tuttiett
Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Quote Message

You've got to give credit to Scotland, they mixed it up really well. They were keeping the Welsh defence guessing.

  13. Penalty Wales!published at 54 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

Scotland can't get the job done. Fantastic defending from the visitors.

Adam Hastings sears through midfield but Dan Biggar grapples him to deck and prevents him off-loading.

A phase or two later, Adam Beard gets his massive arms over the ball and wins Wales a penalty.

That was a huge - and very important - defensive set.

Robbo: Better play from Scotland here. Although we're looking like we need a miracle with every passing minute if we're gonna get anything from this game.

  15. Scotland 'have to leave here with points'published at 52 mins

It's all so frantic from Scotland and there is very little composure.

  17. Gilchrist held uppublished at 52 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

Adam Beard does a fine job disrupting the Scottish drive. WP Nel, then Josh Strauss go around the fringes. It looks like Strauss knocks it on but he fumbles it backwards.

Grant Gilchrist scoops it up and powers over, but he's at an unfavourable angle to ground the ball and is held up over the line, pinned on his back.

It's a Scottish scrum, five metres out. And Gilchrist is the latest Scot to need medical attention - he'll stay on for now, though.

  18. And againpublished at 51 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

Scotland squeeze forwards with the maul and win a penalty advantage.

Ali Price, knowing it's a free shot, tries to dink a kick over the top for Pete Horne, but Hadleigh Parkes beats him to it - good covering and a safe take under pressure.

Scotland go to the corner again.

  19. Scotland come againpublished at 50 mins

    Scotland 6-15 Wales

Scotland attack again but Nick Grigg is tackled and Peter Horne is stripped of possession.

Grigg was taken high, according to the officials, but it's a tough call on Hadleigh Parkes.

Scottish penalty. Russell goes for the corner and - this time - finds touch.

    How they need a score...

That's a missed opportunity. It was a great break by Allan Dell. The important thing now is that Scotland stay down there and don't concede a soft penalty.
