Well, that's pretty much this game in microcosm.
Dell's rumble brings Scotland right into the danger zone, but Russell zips a pass miles behind Darcy Graham and into touch to let the pressure off and sap the excitement from the crowd.
Yet another injury - and a really worrying one for Wales. Their brilliant full-back Liam Williams is led off cradling his right arm. Dan Biggar comes on, with Gareth Anscombe shifting back to full-back.

We've seen that before...Scotland fail to find touch from the penalty they win on halfway.
But Wales kick it back to them and off they go on the counter. A thunderous - and frankly hilarious - rampage from Allan Dell drives Scotland into the Welsh 22. It just opened up for the mobile prop to canter away.
Murrayfield is noisy now, all right. Can Scotland deliver?

Wales aren't too far away from escaping up the left flank through Adams again but Davies' pass is a sloppy one and it bounces forward en route to the winger.
Murrayfield is morgue-like just now. The home fans have had precious little to cheer about. Jonny Gray waves his arms, asking for them to find their voices, as Jamie Ritchie and Adams provide a wee bit of needle with a spot of off-the-ball grappling.
