    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Ireland have gotten beaten up. England did it twice last year. We haven't changed or evolved a whole lot. A lot of questions will be asked over the next two weeks about who's going to start the next game for Ireland.

  4. Last play...published at 80 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

The clock is red. Ireland have a line-out, 10m out from the England line.

Is there some pride to be salvaged?

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Eddie Jones went along the whole England bench and shook everybody's hands with 12 minutes to go, right in front of the cameras - there is a man making a point.

  6. Postpublished at 79 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Courtney Lawes is named as the man of the match. Manu Tuilagi, Maro Itoje and Elliot Daly must have been in the running.

  7. Postpublished at 77 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Ireland's line-out has been fine in returning the ball safely to earth. It has been less good at transforming into a dangerous rolling maul.

England throw a spanner in the spokes once again, stemming the flow and keeping the ball off the floor.

Scrum white and Willi Heinz wallops a clearing kick up to half way.

  8. 'Ireland replacements want the jersey for next time'published at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The Ireland replacements want the jersey for next time out, and they're going a long way to doing that. They're the only ones running around trying to change it up.

England look all together, Ireland look all over the place.

  9. Postpublished at 75 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Jaccob Stockdale and John Cooney make big yards down the left wing, England pegged back deep in their own 22m.

Penalty advantage green. And Johnny Sexton kicks across field, Peter O'Mahony would need to have Stockdale's speed or Devin Toner's height to get there. He has neither....

Mark Davies: I think Ireland have been found out here. Scotland should have beat them and Wales are in tactical transition. I don't even think England have played that well.

Richard Todd: England in the groove totally today impressive performance woukd love to be a fly on the wall when Messrs Owen and Andy Farrell have a chat about the game over a beer.

    England 24-5 Ireland

Jonathan Joseph earns the back slaps and claps from his team-mates as he counter-rucks cleverly, catching Ireland under-manned to win a turnover.

Henry Slade and his raffish moustache replaces Manu Tuilagi for England.

  12. Postpublished at 71 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Ireland are chancing their arm, trying to channel their inner Mike Catt.

One big pass is very nearly intercepted by Elliot Daly, but back they come as Caelan Doris, off the bench, rumbles up the far touchline...

  13. Postpublished at 70 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

The game is breaking up a bit now with all the replacements and England's big lead halting the rhythm.

Jonny May is spotted offside as he attempts to get up fast out wide.

Penalty against the England wing and Ireland kick the penalty into the hosts' 22m.

  14. 'Ireland not at the races'published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's never easy playing away in the Six Nations, it puts into perspective the sort of super-human performance you need to win, what quality France had last night in Wales. Everything has to be spot on from minute one and Ireland have not been at the races today.

    From Ireland, it's been a non-event.

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Ireland players know the contest is gone. England's bench are relaxed, sitting back - man-spreading I suppose.

  16. Replacementpublished at 68 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Ireland return the compliments to Ellis Genge as the England replacement is pinged for boring in at the side of the scrum.

More sledging than the Cresta Run out there. Genge giving as good as he gets as you would expect.

Will Stuart is on in place of Kyle Sinckler.

  17. Replacementpublished at 68 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

Ben Earl is on in the England back row, although Charlie Ewels stays at eight.

Andrew Conway and Jordan Larmour are off with Keith Earls and Ross Byrne on for Ireland.

Luke: To put it simply, none in this Irish squad are capable to get anywhere near the starting XV of England. Such is the class difference man for man.

Appointing an Englishman as Ireland coach is like appointing a train driver as a pilot.

    Calum

  19. 'A tall, tall mountain that Ireland have to climb'published at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's a tall, tall mountain that Ireland have to climb to get back into this game. They need to keep their hopes alive, they need to get something from this game to build on.

I'm looking at the Ireland team and it all seems a bit quiet. I don't see anyone bringing that pack together, taking ownership of it. A touch lacklustre.

  20. Was May through?published at 65 mins

    England 24-5 Ireland

England should have a penalty deep in Ireland territory.

Ireland's Robbie Henshaw should be having a sit-down and a sip of isotonic in the sin bin.

Jonny May was haring towards the tryline after pouncing on a day-dreaming John Cooney at the back of the breakdown.

Henshaw was the only cover and, as May chipped ahead, he threw himself into the wing, shoulder first.

No arms, nowhere near on time. It should have been yellow. Somehow it isn't.

    On we go.
