  5. 'England are probing Stockdale'published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 14-0 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

One of the criticisms of Jacob Stockdale has been, is he good enough on the turn? England are obviously probing Stockdale down that wing, especially with the pace of Jonny May, testing him and turning the big man.

  6. Postpublished at 33 mins

    England 14-0 Ireland

England again have Ireland on the rack as Maro Itoje charges down Conor Murray's box-kick - the Ireland scrum-half taking too long as Itoje takes a running jump at his right boot.

But the pressure disappears as Jonny May marginally and not maliciously takes out Jacob Stockdale in the air as the pair contest a crossfield kick.

  7. Postpublished at 31 mins

    England 14-0 Ireland

    Ireland breathe again.

Courtney Lawes is chopped down by a superb low tackle from Peter O'Mahony as Bundee Aki clamps down over the top.

George Kruis is the first on the scene for England, but too late and too far off his feet for Jaco Peyper's liking.

Penalty for Ireland to clear their lines

SimmoBear: Ireland in full self destruct. Is this the worst standard of rugby the six nations has seen in years?

Richard Ellis: Sexton's face is a picture. Can I have it framed please?

  9. Ireland under pressure once morepublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 14-0 Ireland

A nothing-much kick to the England back three and Elliot Daly cracks one sweet off the laces to take play deep into Ireland's 22m.

And England have stolen the line-out! Another white try might be the ball game...

  10. Replacementpublished at 27 mins

Cian Healy has been forced out the fray through injury.

Dave Kilcoyne is off the bench and into battle in the Ireland front row.

    England 14-0 Ireland

In the build-up to that score, Maro Itoje and CJ Stander had a little roll in the hay.

All pretty PG on all fronts and the ref keeps his cards in his pocket.

  12. 'Ireland will be kicking themselves'published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 14-0 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Two experienced Ireland players, Stockdale and Sexton, messing around in their own dead ball area. Admittedly there's lots of England pressure but when it came down to the moment of scoring the try - Ireland will be kicking themselves. They've handed those 14 points to England.

  13. 'I don't know what Stockdale was doing'published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 14-0 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I don't know what Jacob Stockdale was doing! He was just looking at the ball. Get it down, kid! He's got to catch that on the full or at least get it down.

  14. try

Converted try - England 14-0 Irelandpublished at 24

    Elliot Daly (con Farrell)

    On-field decision is try.....

George Ford's chip in behind is given the hounds-of-hell chase from Owen Farrell and Elliot Daly.

Ireland wing Jacob Stockdale is still favourite, but he dawdles, perhaps hoping it will run dead, and Daly levers him out the way and gets a hand to the ball just before it goes off the cliff edge to poach a superb try.

The TMO upholds the score and Farrell converts.

  15. 'England playing the right gameplan'published at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 7-0 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

England playing the right type of gameplan, it's simple and it's short and when someone like Jonathan Joseph sees a chance to sprinkle a little bit of his magic, he is going to sprinkle it on.

  16. England with a line-out 5m outpublished at 23 mins

    England 7-0 Ireland

Jonathan Joseph with his dancing shoes!

A lovely jinking, gliding break. Ireland are off their feet at the eventual breakdown.

Farrell opts for a kick to the corner.

Another chance for Jamie George and his line-out darts...

  17. Get Involvedpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

#bbcrugby or text us on 81111 (UK only)

Theo Bowyer: Best opening 20 so far by England... one things still baffles me though. Why do we seem obsessed with kicking all the time?! It’s overkill

Looks like officials may have missed an England toe in touch when fielding a box kick just before England's first try.

    Jack in Dunfermline

  18. Postpublished at 22 mins

    England 7-0 Ireland

    Hail to the thief.

Peter O'Mahony gets up on the line-out scene and monkeys with England ball. Courtney Lawes knocks on and that chance is gone...

  19. England with line-out 5m outpublished at 20 mins

    England 7-0 Ireland

    Joe Marler 1-0 Tadhg Furlong.

The England loosehead milks a penalty. George Ford kicks into coffin corner and the hosts have a line-out within 5m of the Ireland whitewash...

  20. 'Henshaw leaving England overlaps'published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 7-0 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

There were two or three occasions where Robbie Henshaw was rushing up outside the defender and leaving two England players for a two-on-one overlap. George Ford just saw it late there.
