  1. 'Impossible to stop'published at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

That was a truck and a half of an England pack. Probably 14 men in that maul, virtually impossible to stop.

England will be hungry for their fourth try, looking for a bonus point.

  2. 'Too easy for England'published at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 24-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Too easy for England there. It was too easy. There's one or two Ireland players not engaging with the maul. It was only going to go one way.

  3. try

Converted try - England 24-5 Irelandpublished at 61 mins

    Luke Cowan-Dickie (con Farrell)

Immaculate drill from England and Eddie Jones rewards new forwards coach Matt Proudfoot with a slap on the shoulder in the coaches box.

England's initial shove is repelled, but they turn from bulldozer to ju-jitsu, switching the point of attack, shearing off and sending Luke Cowan-Dickie over for his sixth England try in just 23 games.

Owen Farrell adds two more and I think this is over as a contest.

  4. England with line-out 5m outpublished at 60 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Welcome to Ellis Genge.

The replacement prop has an immediate impact as Ireland's scrum is sent into a tailspin.

As the players pick themselves up, he has a sharp word for James Ryan and the normally unflappable Ireland second row lunges at him.

Fun and games if no contact.

    England kick to the corner.

Joe Launchbury is on for England.

  5. 'England very confident'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's the body language of a team and who are very confident. The job isn't done yet, but you can sense by the way England are behaving they are completely in control of this game.

England have been dominant, but the scoreline flatters them a touch - it could have been 17-10, Johnny Sexton has missed two.

  6. Replacementpublished at 59 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

The biggest cheer in that raft of changes is for Ellis Genge.

The West Country wisecracker is on in place of a smiling Joe Marler, with Charlie Ewels, usually a second row, packing down at eight after replacing Courtney Lawes.

Ben Youngs is off and Willi Heinz on at scrum-half.

Andrew Porter has replaced Tadhg Furlong in the front row for Ireland.

  7. 'These are the moments you win a test'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

You can see a couple of players taking knees there, taking big deep breaths. These are the moments where you win a test. This is not skill, this is just hard work and mindset.

  8. 'One more and England are done'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The ball is so good for England at the moment, they're getting over the gain line at will. If Elliot Daly caught that pass they score.

One more score for England and they're done.

  9. England knock onpublished at 57 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

Finding the close-quarters clogged with Ireland defenders, England go wide.

Owen Farrell throws to Elliot Daly, but the full-back spills forward as he eyes up a one-on-one with Andrew Conway.

    Chance gone.

  10. England 5m shortpublished at 57 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

England are just five short, not so much knocking on the door as putting a big size 12 through it...

  11. 'Thank god that was forward!'published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Thank god that was forward! If they'd pulled that off, I'm not going to say it was the nail in the coffin but they were definitely lining it up...

  12. Forward pass denies Englandpublished at 55 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

Manu Tuilagi slides just short of the line after gathering a loose ball and galloping clear.

But the ball is forward off Jonny May's hand in the backplay.

He smiles wryly as play is pulled back...

  13. Replacementpublished at 53 mins

    England 17-5 Ireland

    England make their first change.

They introduce Luke Cowan-Dickie's mongrel for Jamie George's pedigree chops at hooker.

Ireland swaps scrum-halves with John Cooney replacing an underwhelming Conor Murray.

  14. Should it have been yellow, too?published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Conor Murray was having a chat to the referee there to say 'listen, you were giving an advantage for multiple penalties, what if we didn't score, would it be a yellow card'?

  15. 'Henshaw does really well'published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-5 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

That is not pretty play but it's great play from an Ireland perspective. Conor Murray has a go, trying to condense the line, Peter O'Mahony does a great pick and go, great presentation and the ball is zipped into Robbie Henshaw's hands and he does really, really well to hold on to it and finish.

  16. try

Try - England 17-5 Irelandpublished at 49 mins

    Robbie Henshaw

    Ireland's pressure pays!

Robbie Henshaw steps inside and dives through a small gap between Owen Farrell and Tom Curry to cross the whitewash.

Given their scoreboard debt, Ireland need the conversion cashback though.

And it is another horrible shank from Johnny Sexton!

He is kicking like his foot is one big blister.

  17. 'A big call'published at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-0 Ireland

    Jamie Heaslip
Former Ireland number eight on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's a big, big call to go for the scrum. Not a bad one because you get 16 players around the ball and a lot of space for the backs to attack. This is the moment for Ireland.

  18. Ireland 10m shortpublished at 48 mins

    England 17-0 Ireland

Ireland with another penalty as Kyle Sinckler goes high in the tackle.

This is an easy three for Ireland if they want them.

But is the gap too big to be nibbled away?

Sexton wants to take a larger bite and calls for a scrum.

10m out. Can Ireland get a try here?

  19. Postpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

    England 17-0 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

    It's not punching him! It's open-handed...

  20. Farrell and Stander contretempspublished at 46 mins

    England 17-0 Ireland

Owen Farrell and CJ Stander with a set-to on the floor!Farrell was clinging to the Ireland number eight's leg like a bear trap. Stander attempts to shove him off, pretty forcefully.

Farrell thinks he was punched. The replays suggest it was a 'dynamic fend'. Or a bit of a slap...
