  3. 'We want to eliminate the mistakes'published at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    England v Wales (16:45 GMT)

Wayne Pivac talking to BBC Radio Wales: "I think there's pressure in every match but we've trained well this week. We want to eliminate some of the mistakes we made in the game against France and take the opportunities as they arise. We created plenty a couple of weeks ago, but weren't able to capitalise on those opportunities.

"It's great to see all the fans out there. Hopefully it's going to be a great occasion and a great game of rugby.

"We discussed it [the passing of Matthew J Watkins] before we got on the bus, about how lucky we are to have these sort of opportunities, and we're going to make the most of them."

    England v Wales (16:45 GMT)

On the subject of fans, we'll expect to hear 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' ring around Twickenham at some stage this afternoon - but do you know where that song came from?

Archive footage has now been found of the song being sung at Twickenham in 1987 when Martin "Chariots" Offiah played.

"When the RFU told me they had found this footage I thought, 'Wow, so I have got some link with this song'," said Offiah.

"We have talked about eliminating some of those errors but also taking some of those opportunities."

Grey clouds overhead at Twickenham and a certain amount of pessimism from the Welsh supporters who have travelled. It's been a strange, muted Six Nations so far, with an uncertain finale ahead, but this is a rivalry to spark the dullest of days."

    England v Wales (16:45 GMT)

    James Hook
    Former Wales fly-half

They are different 10s. Ford is more attacking and he takes the ball to the gain line and engages defences much more. Biggar is more of a threat aerially and his winning mentality is right up there. He is very confident in his own ability and he drives the team on.

  17. 'A proper head-to-head'published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    England v Wales (16:45 GMT)

    Paul Grayson
    Former England fly-half

This will be a proper head-to-head at fly-half. George Ford is a natural flat-to-the-line 10 who manipulates defenders. Sometime he stops doing that with Owen Farrell at 12 when England look to move the ball through another set of hands, but they play better when Ford takes the ball to the line.

Dan Biggar is less natural at that but he has added it to his game since he has moved to Northampton. What he has is a ferocious competitive streak and he is a Test match animal that is absolutely desperate to win. His strength is his relentless pursuit of excellence, but it can spill over sometimes and he gets animated if things aren't going his way.

  18. 'It's going to be a battle today'published at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    England v Wales (16:45 GMT)

    Eddie JonesImage source, Getty Images

Eddie Jones has been having a pre-match chat with the BBC's Chris Jones about whether the postponement of England's match with Italy has affected preparation:

"Every time we come to Twickenham we've got 82,000 peole here, and our job is to play good rugby and nothing's changed. Like most teams, we take every game as it comes. You can't afford to look ahead. The only game we've been worrying about is Wales."

Will England look to test Dan Biggar's fitness early on?

"Every team looks to put pressure on the nine and 10 of the opposition, and it'll be no different today. They'll be gunning for our nine and 10 and certainly we'll be looking to put pressure on their nine and 10.

"It's going to be a battle today, we know that. They've picked their most experienced side, I think it's 850 caps, and when you've got that experience you play tough, so it's going to be a tough old game out there."

    Six Nations table

The Six Nations is just one of several global events that has been disrupted by coronavirus.

This match goes ahead but today's earlier game between Ireland and Italy was postponed because of the outbreak.

England will go top with a bonus-point win, a point above France, who face Scotland tomorrow.

It could be England's last game with their final match postponed against Italy, while Wales can leapfrog their hosts with victory.
