  1. Marvellous Marchandpublished at 32 mins

    Scotland 6-0 France

Phenomenal turnover from Julian Marchand, the French hooker.

Scotland were gaining momentum with Kinghorn and Rory Sutherland making good inroads into the French half, but the prop was isolated on the deck and Marchand made a predatory steal to win a penalty.

The visitors kick down towards the Scotland 22 and start to menace.

    Scotland 6-0 France

My goodness, that's absolute silk from Antoine Dupont.

Scotland kick deep into the French 22 and after Blair Kinghorn just fails to gather under pressure from Damian Penaud, the home scrum-half dummies and skips past three players on his own line to hoof clear.

Gregor Townsend will be very happy with this Scotland performance. France haven't been in the home 22!

    Scotland 6-0 France

Dare we say it, France are looking a wee bit flustered. Antoine Dupont, one of the form players in world rugby, prods a kick out on the full.

There have been a lot of uncharacteristic errors from the grand slam-chasers. Scotland's belligerent defence has been excellent.

France are not getting the momentum they need from these carries - and it's down to some really good defence from Scotland

  6. What do you make of this?published at 28 mins

    Scotland 6-0 France

If you haven't seen it, this is the tackle which led to Francois Cros' sin-binning. Did the officials get it right?

    Scotland 6-0 France

Harem-scarem stuff just now as Scotland win a free-kick at the scrum and then get counter-rucked halfway to Livingston by the massive French jackalers.

The visitors come forward, but once again knock-on in contact. Sam Johnson and Chris Harris try to spark something from deep, but Jefferson Poirot wedges himself limpet-like over the ball and stops the move dead.

So, the upshot is a Scotland scrum, back where we started, just outside the home 22.

  8. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Scotland 6-0 France

Scotland are leading and looking good, but they are not going to break their run of early profligacy. We're past the 20-minute mark, which means for the fourth game running, Scotland haven't scored a try in the first quarter.

  9. Scotland thwart French againpublished at 23 mins

    Scotland 6-0 France

A promising period of French attack now as the bruisers stick it up the jumper and barrel into Scottish defence.

The home side are holding firm, though. Adam Hastings tries manfully to wrestle the ball from Gregor Alldritt, but it's a bit of a mismatch. Two phases later, Paul Willemse juggles and spills under huge pressure.

Scrum Scotland. Steve Tandy, the home defence coach, will be purring at that.

  11. 'Scotland get reward for pressure'published at 21 mins

Scotland won the kicking battle there - we haven't seen that against France - then retained possession and ran hard at a strong defence, put them under pressure and got their reward. Another excellent kick from Adam Hastings as well

  12. Penalty Scotland 6-0 Francepublished at 20 mins

    Adam Hastings

Ooft, that's a peach of a kick. Hastings hammers between the uprights and the camera cuts to his parents, Gavin and Diane, who share a quick smooch for the TV viewers.

Gavin has thumped a fair of those kicks over in his day...

  13. Hastings steps up againpublished at 19 mins

    Scotland 3-0 France

Penalty Scotland. Paul Williams does France for slowing the ball down illegally at the breakdown.

Stuart Hogg points to the posts and Hastings will try to double the Scottish lead from around 45m, slightly right of centre.

  14. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Scotland 3-0 France

Hastings belts the ball into the French 22 but it's brilliantly covered by Anthony Bouthier. Hastings returns again with the boot and Scotland pinch it back.

Now the baby blue jerseys come tumbling into the French half. What can they conjure?

  15. As the Cros fliespublished at 16 mins

    Scotland 3-0 France

There's a chorus of boos from the Murrayfield crowd as Francois Cros returns from his sin-bin period with his team only three points worse off.

  16. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Scotland 3-0 France

Suddenly, France are in behind. Scotland put a ton of pressure on the French line-out, but the ball squirms loose and Matthieu Jalibert scoops it up and scampers clear down the short side.

He chips over the top of Blair Kinghorn, and the gangling winger does just enough to rescue the ball on the deck and lay it back for Ali Price to clear.

  17. 'Important to get reward for possession'published at 14 mins

It's important to get some reward for the territory possession Scotland have had. It was a good hit from Adam Hastings as well - never easy in that position and you could see the wind affecting the ball

  18. Penalty Scotland 3-0 Francepublished at 12 mins

    Adam Hastings

The Edinburgh winds are buffeting the ball on the tee, so much so that Adam Hastings has to readjust and realign his run-up.

The Scotland fly-half isn't ruffled by the disruption, though. It's a clean strike and the hosts lead.

  19. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Scotland 0-0 France

Scotland pulverize the French scrummage, making the most of Cros' absence. They march the visitors backwards and backwards again, ratcheting up the pressure until the French front-row buckled and spun.

Penalty Scotland. Adam Hastings goes for goal, 23m out, straight in front.

  20. Ntamack fumbles and then goes offpublished at 8 mins

    Scotland 0-0 France

Well now, a very rare error from Romain Ntamack. The fly-half guddles a hopeful high punt from Scotland under no pressure.

Scrum Scotland just outside the French 22. These are big moments for Scotland. They need to make their pressure and man advantage tell.

Ntamack is coming off for a head injury assessment with Matthieu Jalibert coming on. He's a cracking young pivot with a less-than-cracking peroxide blonde hairdo.
