That is Wales' first home win over Ireland for 22 years.

What a time to banish that particular hoodoo.

They're setting the stage for the trophy presentation now.

The scene on the pitch, where there are players and staff embracing everywhere, is one of unbridled joy.

The stadium around me is actually shaking.

Wales deserve this particular accolade because they've consistently been the most attractive and played the best rugby of any of the teams in the championship.

What does it mean to all those people? It's difficult to describe if you don't live here, where rugby is more than your average game - it means a lot more.

    Wales 32-20 Ireland

Wales think they're in with a chance of a breakaway attack when Tom Shanklin tackles Geordan Murphy and the ball breaks free.

Stephen Jones hacks it downfield but play is called back for a lineout as Hickie was deemed to have been bundled out of play.

Wales won't mind - the clock keeps ticking and that finish line is in sight now.

Wales scrum-half Dwayne Peel has been named man of the match by former England hooker Brian Moore and he has been excellent throughout the campaign.

If anybody typifies the wonderful high-tempo attacking rugby Wales have produced in this championship, it is Peel.

You imagine captain Michael Owen and centre Tom Shanklin would have pushed Peel close to this individual accolade against Ireland.

Geordan Murphy try, David Humphreys conversion

Ireland might have been wasteful and ill-disciplined in Cardiff but you can't question their character with the resilience leading to a second try.

Full-back Geordan Murphy crosses following a high David Humphreys hanging kick.

Gavin Henson also gives a penalty away on the halfway line for a needless sliding trip challenge on Murphy although there appeared to be little contact.
