You can't fault Italy's desire or passion. Every decision they get is greeted like they have just won a WWE bout. Foot stomping and shoulder slapping of the like which leave us mere mortals bruised.

Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's an obvious half-time conversation gone on here to say 'ok, the balance of kicking and just playing the kick tennis isn't necessarily what we should be doing. We've got the balance wrong. Let's play and go through the phases'.

And to help England get that fourth try which would clinch the bonus point, Eddie Jones has thrown on Ollie Thorley for his debut.

This guy (almost) makes Jonny May looks slow and cumbersome...

OK, so here is a reminder of the state of play. England need a bonus-point win to give them the best chance of winning the Six Nations.

If they do that, and France beat Ireland in a low-scoring game, then the title is going to Twickers.

England's exponential improvement since half-time has yielded two tries. They've been in total control and used brute force on that occasion.

  6. try

Italy 5-24 England (try George, con Farrell)

The landmark lads are carrying England towards glory! After centurion Youngs' brace, hooker Jamie George stretches England's lead by finishing off that maul with a reach for the line on his 50th cap.

A bit of confusion at first, caused by the football lines and the advertisements painted on the Stadio Olimpico pitch.

George knows he has got it, though. Grinning from ear to ear is the Saracens man.

Jake Polledri is back on for the Italians after his 10-minute, erm, break. And they need him now as England drive forward with a monster of a maul...

  8. 'Itoje leading from the front'published at 50 mins

    Italy 5-17 England

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

Maro Itoje was probably one of the players at half-time that has looked at his own game or maybe said a few words to the forward pack, as one of the leaders, to say 'we need to apply more pressure in absolutely every department here'. He's doing it from the front.

England look to take advantage of that enforced Italian reshuffle, Owen Farrell probing with a low kick for Jonny May to hare after. Italian number 10 Paolo Garbisi fills in at full-back and slides across to snuff out the danger.

    Italy 5-17 England

Italy full-back Matteo Minozzi looks like he has just taken a right hand from Anthony Joshua. Nose and blood splattered everywhere.

Thankfully, for all concerned, it wasn't a punch, but a clash of faces between Minozzi and Jonny May.

On comes Guglielmo Palazzani to replace him. Could be a broken nose that.

Tom Curry is quite lucky there I think. The big Italian winger manages himself to the ground quite well or Curry could have been in a world of trouble.

Lucky boy, I think, is Tom Curry. The Sale flanker avoids a ticking off - and much worse from ref Pascal Gauzere.

  16. 'Brilliant, individual try'published at 42 mins

    Italy 5-17 England

What a finish! It's classic scrum-half dummy and go. It's a brilliant, individual try by Ben Youngs.

  17. try

Italy 5-17 England (try Youngs, con Farrell)

Can you believe it! England are over almost within a minute and it is Ben Youngs who goes in. Again!

England debutant Jonny Hill charges down a kick to win back possession before Maro Itoje and Billy Vunipola punch holes in the Italian defence.

An error from Danilo Fischetti in the breakdown is pounced on by Youngs, who dummies and marks his 100th cap with his second try.

Neat footwork from the scrum-half sees him dance through and over for England's second try. Halfway there...
