France played so well last week that everyone is talking about them but I think it allows Ireland to come here and squeeze them.

France do have vulnerabilities and Ireland will be quietly confident going in that they can put France under pressure.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ireland win, but France can also, if they are in that form, be lethal.

I'd rather be in Andy Farrell's seat. A win by seven points isn't impossible, but France's task is a big ask.

    Right then.

It won't exactly be a miracle, but can Ireland produce that seven-point win needed at the Stade de France?

Who is or are the key men that can push them over the line?

  9. The permutations!!published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

    England:

Need none of the below to happen.

Ireland: If they earn a bonus-point win - achieved by scoring four tries or more - they will win the title.

They could still win the title with a four-pointer if they defeat France by seven points. If points and points difference is the same then it's down to tries... which is 14-14 as it stands. If the points are purely gained by kicks between the posts then the championship will be shared. Yikes!

    7-0 will do for Ireland.

    France:

France need a five-pointer here and manage at least a 31-point win over Ireland. Hmmm...

France have named Arthur Vincent at centre in the only change to the side that beat Wales with style last week.

Vincent's inclusion for the injured Teddy Thomas means Gael Fickou moves to the wing, while uncapped back Arthur Retier is on the bench.

Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw replaces Garry Ringrose, who broke his jaw against Italy.

Henshaw's move from the bench means Chris Farrell is drafted into the Ireland replacements.

    France: 15-Anthony Bouthier, 14-Vincent Rattez, 13-Virimi Vakatawa, 12-Arthur Vincent, 11-Gael Fickou, 10-Romain Ntamack, 9-Antoine Dupont; 1-Cyril Baille; 2-Julien Marchand, 3-Mohamed Haouas, 4-Bernard Le Roux, 5-Paul Willemse, 6-Francois Cros, 7-Charles Ollivon (captain), 8-Gregory Alldritt

    Replacements: 16-Camille Chat, 17-Jean-Baptiste Gros, 18-Demba Bamba, 19-Romain Taofifenua, 20-Dylan Cretin, 21-Baptiste Serin, 22-Arthur Retiere, 23-Thomas Ramos

    Ireland: 15-Jacob Stockdale, 14-Andrew Conway, 13-Robbie Henshaw, 12-Bundee Aki, 11-Hugo Keenan, 10-Jonathan Sexton (captain), 9-Conor Murray; 1-Cian Healy, 2-Rob Herring, 3-Andrew Porter, 4-Tadhg Beirne, 5-James Ryan, 6-Caelan Doris, 7-Will Connors, 8-CJ Stander

    Replacements: 16-Dave Heffernan, 17-Ed Byrne, 18-Finlay Bealham, 19-Ultan Dillane, 20-Peter O'Mahony, 21-Jamison Gibson-Park, 22-Ross Byrne, 23-Chris Farrell

Back in February, the Ireland candle, which flickered so brightly in the Six Nations, was extinguished cruelly by a strong gust in the guise of England's backs.

Coach Andy Farrell also watched his son Owen land his own jabs as Ireland team's Grand Slam hopes were dashed for another year.

However, seven months later, the frowns may turn to smiles again. Last week they thrashed Italy, as expected, and now can be guaranteed the championship if they achieve a bonus-point win over France. However, despite their recent good record at Stade de France they have been relatively low-scoring encounters.

England are in the box seat after their five-pointer against Italy. France are also still in the mix - sort of - permutations in a bit.

So you've got this live text, TV coverage and radio coverage of the final match of the 2020 Six Nations which finally comes to a conclusion. DO NOT MOVE.
