Wales just can't get their hands on the ball and Ireland are very dominant.

I am looking at the Wales bench and seeing if they can make changes but it is very difficult anyway because they just can't get possession.

Wales have not won in Dublin since 2015 and, judging by that first half, their wait for another victory on Irish soil will go on beyond this evening.

Ireland dominated the opening 40 minutes and their only disappointment will be that they're not further ahead.

It's not been Rhys Carre's night.

After a tough evening in the scrums, the Wales loose-head prop is replaced before half-time, with Wyn Jones taking his place.

    Ireland 16-6 Wales

We've got a TMO check for a try here.

Ireland have a lineout 10 metres out from the Welsh try line and their maul is halted before it can get going.

Andrew Conway is then tackled into touch but Wales make a mess of their lineout.

Will Rowlands drops the ball, Gareth Davies can't gather and TMO Romaine Poite is checking to see if Andrew Porter grounds the ball over the Welsh line.

The Irish prop dives but fails to ground the ball, knocks it on and Wales will have a scrum five metres from their line.

When was the last time Wales had the ball for more than one phase?

Ireland clear and, with the ball high in the air, Wales scrum-half Gareth Davies concedes a penalty for impeding the chasing Andrew Conway.

Billy Burns has a penalty 10 metres inside the Irish half and kicks it into touch in the Welsh half.

    Ireland 13-6 Wales

Ireland win the scrum from Wales' put-in.

With the Welsh defence trying to regroup, Ireland pour forward into the 22.

They work the ball out to the right wing, where Andrew Conway tries to wriggle his way through but he is wrestled into touch.

Ireland have a penalty after Wales prop Rhys Carre is caught offside, prompting a warning from referee Mathieu Raynal.

    Ireland 13-6 Wales

James Lowe is seeing a lot of the ball on his Ireland debut.

Having made some strong runs in midfield and from his left wing, the Leinster man pops up on the right.

He passes to Peter O'Mahony but the Munster flanker drops it.

    Leigh Halfpenny

Scrums, eh? Now Wales have won a penalty from one.

Leigh Halfpenny will have a kick at goal from the Irish 10-metre line, and it's a typically fine strike.

Wales are back within a converted try of Ireland.

    Ireland 13-3 Wales

Wales have struggled to string phases together in their past few games.

They've looked a little more disciplined in defence but keeping possession still seems to be an issue for Wayne Pivac's men.

  16. Replacementpublished at 29 mins

    Ireland 13-3 Wales

This is a blow for Ireland.

It looks like captain and fly-half Johnny Sexton has injured his hamstring.

He's coming off to be replaced by Billy Burns, the England-born Ulster fly-half who makes his debut.

We are seeing some bright sparks from Ireland and they are slowly building the scoreboard pressure.

It is getting to that time in the game where Wales have to respond and score. Ireland have had the majority of possession and territory.

    Ireland 10-3 Wales

Ireland are well on top now.

Jonathan Davies can't collect Johnny Sexton's grubber. Leigh Halfpenny covers but he is swallowed up by Irish chasers and he concedes a penalty for holding on.

This penalty is within Sexton's range.
