Bristol did not give Toulon the options in the second half that they gave them in the first: They made fewer mistakes and were more discliplined.

They knew they had more to give than Toulon and if they prevented them getting the ball and kept it for longer they were superior.

It was a very professional second half and they were better than Toulon.

A great moment for Bristol and for English club rugby as the Bears show us exactly why there's so much hype around them as an outfit under Pat Lam and owner Steve Lansdown.

Who knows how many more scenes they'll be like this in seasons to come for them?

Here comes the moment for Bristol to lift their first major silverware since 1983.

Great scenes for the Bears in southern France.

It was a cracking final. I thought at one point, neither team wanted to grab it and take the initiative.

But once we got to the 60-minute mark and Max Malins scored that try, Bristol just took hold of it.

Such a fantastic game too with that early Harry Randall try after just 26 seconds.

Bristol back row Ben Earl speaking on BT Sport:

"We were so calm and controlled when we were behind there and we trusted the system and the proces to get us over the line.

"We were really strong and tight-knit this week after the disappointment of the Premiership semi-final last weekend.

"But we stuck together and focused hard on this task and it's a great feeling to beat a quality Toulon side."

What a fantastic occasion for the club and the fans.

What a journey Pat Lam has taken this Bristol side on since coming to the club three years ago playing Championship rugby.

Now they have a European Challenge Cup to their name. That's fantastic work by everyone involved at the club.

Huge congratulations to Bristol, they thoroughly deserve that victory.

They executed the right game plan in that second half and took the chances.

The moments you wait for in big finals to swing matches are that passage of play where they knocked back Toulon's attack on their own line from just five metres out.
