Louis Carbonel notches his third successful kick of the first half after Dave Attwood is penalised for going off his feet around 35 metres back from his line after trying to steal the ball off Sergio Parisse.

Toulon are forced into an early change as try-scorer Bryce Heem has to head off and be replaced by Masivesi Dakuwaqa.

Heem appeared to clash heads with his own team-mate as they both chased a high ball.

I'm tired watching that - there's a lot going on!

But there was also a lot of aimless kicking, breaking up the rhythm of the game and I'm not entirely sure it's always on when both sides choose that option.

But that was a long passage of play.

Lots of open play and the ball pinging backwards and forwards in the air as both sides try to use the kicking game to force an opening.

Hard work for both sides as the hits go in and the bodies hit the floor on this 4G surface.

Neither side wanting to give an inch as we move towards half-time.

Toulon respond strongly again after Bristol have another try chalked off.

Bristol tried a couple of tap-and-go penalties inside the 22, but they fail to execute on the floor when recycling and the French can clear their lines.

On-field decision was try from Andrew Brace, but it's disallowed for a forward pass from Semi Radradra out to Joe Joyce as he tried to nip in over the line in the corner.

Bit of a moral victory for Toulon as former Worcester back Bryce Heem takes a good high ball from Harry Randall's box kick and wins a penalty for his side.

Toulon need a bit more of that to get a foot-hold in this match.
