  1. Error count is crucialpublished at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Wales 18-13 Ireland

    David Humphreys
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

Ireland defended the first line-out and stopped Wales setting up the maul but they created the extra man and there were some beautiful hands before Rees-Zammit finished in the corner.

The big difference is the number of unforced errors by Ireland in the second half. It is always harder to chase the game when you are a man down.

Converted try - Wales 18-13 Irelandpublished at 59 mins

    Louis Rees-Zammit

Has Louis Rees-Zammit touched down in the corner for Wales?

He has! A brilliant, athletic finish.

Wales secure their own line-out and they go the direct route initially, trucking it up with the forwards.

Then they shift the ball out wide to the right and North passes to Rees-Zammit, who dives and manages to dab the ball down in the tightest of spaces. Superb.

Leigh Halfpenny converts from the touchline.

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

Wales have a penalty after Keith Earls tackles Gareth Davies in the air.

Dan Biggar kicks it into touch, up into Ireland's 22, and... let me shock you... Wales lose the ball.

However, Ireland take the ball back in, clear on the full and at the second time of asking Wales secure line-out possession and get a driving maul going. Slowly.

Penalty to Wales for Ireland bringing down the maul and they'll go to the corner again.

Is it wise for Wales to trust their line-out?

  6. Just where we want Northpublished at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

    Ian Gough
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

It's lovely to see George North in space and in full flight, and just where we need him - over that try line.

He threw the little dummy and it's great for him. He'll only grow in confidence from that.

  7. Replacementpublished at 55 mins

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

Another front-row change for Ireland, with tight-head Tadhg Furlong on for Andrew Porter.

A bit of fake crowd noise piped in as he comes on: "Wales!" Bet he's intimidated.

  8. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

As they did in the first half, Ireland build their attack with patient phase play, their forwards carrying powerfully.

Wales' defence keeps its structure and discipline and, after Ireland enter a ruck from the side, they're awarded a penalty.

Much better from Wales at the start of this second half. Admittedly, that's not saying much.

  9. Replacementpublished at 52 mins

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

Ireland prop David Kilcoyne comes on for Cian Healy.

The away side have a line-out five yards inside the Welsh half and secure possession initially, only for Wales flanker Justin Tipuric to force a turnover.

Hallam Amos clears but it goes out on the full and Ireland will have another line-out, this time closer to Wales' 22.

  10. Ireland need to resetpublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

    David Humphreys
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

When you're in your defensive area just hold on to the ball. Don't try any silly off-loads or passes and then you can kick it 50 yards down field. Ireland have to reset now. They have to have the mentality of everything is level but they have the ability to win this game.

  11. 'Never going to get him'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Wales 11-13 Ireland

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

Iain Henderson is never going to get George North from there. He throws the dummy and it's the acceleration.

Try - Wales 11-13 Irelandpublished at 49 mins

    George North

Wales are back in the game!

Ireland lose possession just outside their own 22, and Wales take full advantage.

They work the ball out wide to the right to outside centre George North, who straightens his run, fakes a pass and powers his way over.

North has had a solid game this afternoon and he took that try superbly.

Leigh Halfpenny pushes his conversion wide.

    Wales 6-13 Ireland

Wales secure one of their own line-outs for a change but then Taulupe Faletau, out of character, drops a simple pass.

Scrum for Ireland just outside their own 22.

  14. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Wales 6-13 Ireland

Ireland are on the attack again but Conor Murray kicks away possession rather aimlessly, giving Leigh Halfpenny the chance to clear.

Both teams then exchange a few kicks before Hallam Amos (is that his first touch?!) tries to counter from inside his own 22.

He's stopped by a high tackle from Rob Herring and Wales will have a penalty midway in their own half.

  15. Wales need to take better care of ballpublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

    Wales 6-13 Ireland

    Richie Rees
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

The disappointing thing for Wales is that they've been stripped in contact three times now and we're only three minutes into the second half.

It's something we have to minimise.

  16. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Wales 6-13 Ireland

George North is receiving treatment after a stray hand seemed to catch him in the eye, accidentally it would appear.

The Wales centre seems fine to continue, while Ireland kick a penalty to touch in the Welsh half.

  18. Don't despair!published at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Centre Scott Williams should know better than anyone that Wales love a comeback.

  20. Replacementpublished at 43 mins

    Wales 6-13 Ireland

By the way, scrum-half Gareth Davies has replaced Tomos Williams for Wales.

It looks like Williams suffered a hamstring injury.
