  2. 'We got what we came for'published at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Italy 7-48 Wales

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac said: "We got what we can for, five points.

"To get that bonus point by half-time and have the luxury of pulling a few of the guys off that would normally go 80 minutes was a benefit for us.

"It got a little bit disjointed but happy to keep them out at the end."

  3. From autumn glimpses to successpublished at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

Wales came in for a lot of criticism, from coaches to players in the autumn internationals.

But you could see little glimpses of what was to come, a little bit of Rees-Zammit, we saw Sheedy.

We now see people like Wyn Jones growing into maturity, and he's been one of the players that's underpinned this success.

We've seen Wales chundering along nicely and the confidence will be there going to France.

    FT: Italy 7-48 Wales

Speaking to ITV, man of the match Wales back-row Josh Navidi said: "We knew it was going to be tough, they're a real strong side.

"We knew it was going to be an open game which we came here to play.

"We really enjoyed it and got the job done and we look forward to next week."

  6. 'Plenty to work on' - captain Jonespublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT Italy 7-48 Wales

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones speaking to S4C: "We were pretty clinical, particularly in the first half.

"We're a tad frustrated with the second half but it's a case of job done and plenty to work on.

"The excitement I feel every time I pull on this red jersey is insurmountable, so I'm looking forward to getting back to it on Monday and preparing for next weekend."

  7. Wales can take form and confidence to Parispublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT: Italy 7-48 Wales

    Tom Shanklin
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

A good performance and they left a lot of tries out there as well.

At 27-0 at half-time the damage was done, Wales could totally relax.

I'm happy that there's not many injuries, they'll take a lot of form and a lot of confidence into this final game.

That is going to be absolutely massive.

  8. Owens basks in try-scoring exploitspublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    FT Italy 7-48 Wales

Wales hooker Ken Owens speaking to S4C: "It was nice to cross for two tries, and nice for the forwards to get some tries and not give them all to the backs!

"It would have been nice to get a hat-trick and double my tally of international tries, but it was a good chance to bring on the replacements.

"I won't be trying that grubber-kick again, though!

"We thought Italy would pose a tough challenge and now we've got the victory and the bonus point we can look forward to the match in France next weekend.

"That will be a tough test and we've got plenty to work on before then."

  10. Job done as Paris loomspublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It's job done in Rome and they've done it in style.

It's four down and one to go for Wales as they face a match against France in Paris, going for the Grand Slam.

What an unexpected turn of events this year, Wales lacklustre in the autumn, now heroes of the Six Nations as they head to the Stade de France.

  11. Full-time - Italy 7-48 Walespublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Wales regather possession, kick the ball out and bring the curtain down on a job well done.

Wayne Pivac's men were totally dominant in Rome, scoring seven tries and securing the most comfortable of bonus-point victories.

Italy, by contrast, were dreadful and stay bottom of the Six Nations table.

Wales stay top and are now just one win away from a Grand Slam. They travel to France next weekend. What a game that could be!

  12. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Italy 7-48 Wales

Italy's maul is brought down illegally, according to Wayne Barnes.

The Azzurri kick to the corner again and try their luck with another maul.

Progress is slow so they spread the ball wide to their backs and wing Mattia Bellini is well tackled by Josh Adams.

Back they come on the opposite left wing but they knock the ball on.

He's been very industrious, he complements the work of the back row, he really gets in there and allows other players to do so.

    Very justified I think.

    Italy 7-48 Wales

Italy are attacking with more purpose now, with quick ball and powerful carrying from their forwards.

The move ends after a knock-on but they'll have a penalty, which they'll kick to the corner.

A decent defensive workout for Wales to end a good day's work.

  15. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Italy 7-48 Wales

Italy have a penalty following a high tackle from Willis Halaholo and they kick to touch in the Welsh 22.

An Italian maul goes nowhere so they reset and the forwards carry the ball gamely into contact.

Centre Carlo Canna tries a change of tactic with a cross-field kick but it bounces into touch.

Not long left now. The job already done, Wales will want to repel this Italian attack.

  16. All about conserving energy nowpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    Italy 7-48 Wales

    Tom Shanklin
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

You're thinking of the bigger picture now.

I'd certainy be conserving my energy, not trying to do too much, trying to stay away from trouble as best as I can to see this game out.

  17. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Italy 7-48 Wales

Wales replacement scrum-half Lloyd Williams clears well with a left-footed box-kick, which he sends into touch near the halfway line.

Italy try attacking out wide, but Edoardo Padovani cannot gather a kick over the Welsh defensive line.

Louis Rees-Zammit touches down and Wales are able to clear.

  18. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Italy 7-48 Wales

The game is getting loose on both sides now.

Italy replacement flanker Maxime Mbanda catches Jonathan Davies' kick and sets off galloping down the right wing.

Liam Williams stops him, with a tackle which looked rather painful with his head on the wrong side.

Italy knock the ball on and Wales will have a scrum inside their own 22.

  19. Italy haven't adaptedpublished at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    Italy 7-48 Wales

    Tom Shanklin
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

Italy have not adapted to this game, they're still trying to play the same way they did at the start.

You have to adapt to the situation and the scoreline.

I thought, come second half, they would be more physical, they might go back to basics, but no, not at all.

  20. Postpublished at 69 mins

Italy prop Marco Riccioni is back on after his 10 minutes in the sin-bin.

That could be the change Italy need to overhaul their 41-point deficit in these final 11 minutes.
