A nightmare first half for the Lions, who at times looked spooked in the face of a Springbok-inspired onslaught.
Even though South Africa have hardly played since the Rugby World Cup, the template remains the same: suffocating kicking-game, relentlessly physical, and touches of genius from the likes of Cheslin Kolbe.
You have to question some of the Lions' tactics, especially the merits in trying to bash the door down with constant pick-and-drives close to the line
But they aren’t out of this, with South Africa ‘A’ down to 13 for the start of the second half.

The Lions are yet to make it over the whitewash despite several visits to the opposition 22.
Even with South Africa down to 13 men at the end of the first half, there was no way through.
Conversely, the Springboks have turned to their World Cup-winning backline for their tries.
Eben Etzebeth's chargedown and Sbu Nkosi's pace combined for the first score, while a moment of Cheslin Kolbe magic set Lukhanyo Am up for the second.
