    Phew.

Handre Pollard rather unusually lets the Lions off the hook.

Watson picks up the Springboks player and looks to tip him up head first, but the referee decides it is just a penalty. Handre Pollard has a kick.

Warren Gatland has decided the cool, experienced head of Conor Murray is needed to see this one out as Ali Price makes way.

For South Africa, Lood de Jager replaces Franco Mostert and Rynhard Elstadt replaces Kwagga Smith.

Oh dear, Hamish Watson has made a dodgy tackle on Willie le Roux...

That was so impressive from Dan Biggar from out on the left.

He missed one earlier but if the Lions come away with a win here no one will remember that. A reminder that the tourists were down 12-3 at half-time.

Faf de Klerk kicks the ball out on the full and Ken Owens has his first line-out of the game just outside South Africa's 22,

It reaches Maro Itoje safely and the Lions maul. It worked quite well this time, but doesn't get them quite so far this time. They do win another penalty at least as South Africa bring the maul down.

Dan Biggar will kick at goal for the lead.

That scrum stays standing and South Africa will get the chance to dig themselves out of their half.

It is easy to forget that the Springboks still have the lead, such has been the Lions' momentum in this half.

Robbie Henshaw and Duhan van der Merwe both went up for a high ball, but between them just knocked it forwards.

    Time for another scrum then.

Duhan van der Merwe is on his way!

Oh, it's a knock-on... So close to a try there for the Lions winger.

The trio of forwards are immediately treated to a scrum.

South Africa's front row goes down and they'll have another go. This time it stays up and Courtney Lawes is again the man carrying the Lions into the hosts' half.

South Africa picked up the trend of unforced errors and penalties in this opening quarter of the second half.

The Lions are fluent and looking far sharper in attack. Mako Vunipola and Hamish Watson are the first subs for Gatland who will look to add to the dynamism and current attacking intent.

Reinforcements for the Lions. Will they be game-changers?

Ken Owens is on for Luke Cowan-Dickie, Mako Vunipola takes Rory Sutherland's place and Hamish Watson replaces Tom Curry.

    One point in it!

This is exactly how the first Test in a Lions series should be.

Still the Lions try to make it through the sturdy line of green but they can't find a way through.

They get a bit of help from their opponents as South Africa concede another penalty. As long as the Lions keep possession, they seem to be rewarded with a penalty in this half. That is five in a row from South Africa.

    Dan Biggar will kick again.
