    The wisdom of pairing Marcus Smith (3 previous Test caps) with Owen Farrell (99 previous Test caps) showed with that first try.

    Farrell stepped into first receiver, allowing Marcus Smith space to slip in behind and pop Freddie Steward into a hole.

    England have hidden Smith out wide on defence.

    All very canny.

    England go quickly from the scrum and build a swift attack and Marcus Smith half-steps as Freddie Steward runs onto the ball and straight through a gap to score.
