Marcus Smith
If anyone wondered whether Marcus Smith was ready for international rugby, there's your answer.
Straight through the middle. England lead with 15 seconds to go.

There is a choice of penalties for England.
Tom Curry appears to have taken on captaincy duties and tells Andrew Brace they'll take the one in front of the posts, thank you very much.

Boring boring SA, that style of play will have people reaching for the off switch.

England 24-26 South Africa
While England's forwards get in a scuffle with their opposite numbers, Marcus Smith calmly ties his shoelace as if he's not about to step up for a match-winning kick against the world champions at Twickenham.
England 24-26 South Africa
Joe Marchant is up to the halfway line, Marcus Smith sends a long ball left to Jonny May and England are getting closer to the 22.
They've got a penalty and they go quickly!
South Africa concede another and this one is right in front of the posts. England celebrate as if they've won the match. If Marcus Smith can get this over, they surely have...
England 24-26 South Africa
South Africa clear the ball to touch just inside their own half and it's another huge throw for Nic Dolly.
Again Eben Etzebeth nabs it. Not a fun day for Dolly. You don't want to be faced with Etzebeth in the line-out.
England win the ball back on the floor, though. Now what can they do with it?

What a final few minutes this is going to be.
This is a proper Twickenham classic.
England 24-26 South Africa
Huge pressure on rookie Nic Dolly in that line-out and the much more experienced Eben Etzebeth steals the ball.
With four minutes to go, that could have been England's last chance at victory.

World rugby changed the rules to make it interesting, guess someone forget to tell South Africa. Yes it's effective, but it's not an advert for the game. I was saying the same thing about England 2 years ago, but at least most other international teams are trying to play more attacking rugby.

England 24-26 South Africa
Eben Etzebeth is through the line! What a line from the lock.
Finally England win a penalty as his pass is too much for Malcolm Marx and the ball is knocked on.
The hosts clear their lines. It looked for a second like Etzebeth might be away for a match winner there. Phew.

Mark Burt: England’s terrible indiscipline continues to undermine all the good work they do. So many players in white making brainless decisions. Incredibly frustrating and will always cost them in matches like this
Frans Steyn
The Springboks take the lead back.
Seven minutes left. Anything could happen now.
England 24-23 South Africa
Frans Steyn will kick for the lead.
England 24-23 South Africa
Freddie Steward's dropped one!
That might be the first time we've seen him do that in an England shirt.
He knocks the ball to give South Africa advantage, before England concede another penalty on the floor.
The crowd boos. They know this cannot continue if England want to win.
That is EIGHTEEN penalties conceded now.
Makazole Mapimpi
Too much space.
The maul gets South Africa to within centimetres of the tryline. The Springboks spin the ball left and make the most of their man advantage to send Makazole Mapimpi over in the corner.
It's a tricky kick from the left touchline for the lead and Elton Jantjies can't make it. One point in it. What a final 10 minutes this is going to be.
