Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

England have done what they said they would, play with pace. They were accurate, and there were some errors early on but once they settled into their routine of squeezing the Italians into infringing, they ran away with it.

All Italy can do to stop it is infringe. High content from England, and Italy are struggling to cope with it.

What a superb pass from Genge! Then it was George with the run up, he goes for the outside and dots it down.

It was a brilliant pass from Genge, and that was a superb finish!

Converted Try - Italy 0-21 Englandpublished at 39 mins

    Jamie George (con Marcus Smith)

A second try for the England hooker.

Stephen Varney has a moment of madness as he flings the loose ball back into English hands.

The ball is recycled and moved wide where Ellis Genge has the hands of a centre.

His terrific pass finds Jamie George near the touchline and the hooker does the rest as he powers over.

    Marcus Smith adds the conversion.

    Italy 0-14 England

    Excellent defence by Italy.

For all of their errors with discipline, the Italians are resolute there.

They turn the England maul and isolate Jamie George. England then knock on and Italy will have the scrum.

There's lots of back slapping and head tapping after that one.

Another penalty and another kick to touch deep inside Italy's half. The hosts' discipline is killing them.

Can England make amends this time?

  13. No try - Italy 0-14 Englandpublished at 33 mins

The try is chalked off as Nick Isiekwe is penalised for his body position in the maul.

The lock is deemed to be the wrong side and therefore not allowing Italy to contest.

    And they're over.

Harry Randall latches onto the ball at the back of the maul, before peeling off and wriggling clear from a few tackles.

He is hauled down by Maro Itoje picks up and powers over.

Or does he? Is Nick Isiekwe in an offside position in the maul?

    It's being checked...

England roll through the phases inside the Italy 22 but Harry Randall spills the ball forward as he tries to pick it up.

But we'll come back for the penalty and Marcus Smith will nudge this into touch.

    Here comes the heave.

That's great stuff from Italy, they are using Garbisi almost like a centre to make things happen. Good scragging tackle by Marcus Smith in the end.

    Italy 0-14 England

Italy punch a few holes in the white wall.

It's shifted wide to Federico Mori, who is one-on-one with Marcus Smith.

He opts to take the England fly-half on the outside, but Smith holds on and manages to drag him into touch.

    Great defence.

    Italy 0-14 England

England are off and running at speed before Freddie Steward pokes the ball through.

It's only Federico Mori back for the hosts but some fancy footwork enables him to evade Max Malins and throw the ball back inside to a blue shirt.

    Pressure relieved.

England have really only been in the Italy half twice, excellent efficiency, Italy have had two chances and wasted them both.
