The only two teams who can win the Six Nations today are France and Ireland.

If France beat England in tonight's final fixture, they'll clinch a first Grand Slam since 2010.

Ireland could take the title if they draw against Scotland and France lose to England or if they beat Scotland and France lose to England or draw without a bonus point.

If Ireland beat Scotland with a bonus point, France must win to take the title.

150 caps is three decent careers isn't it!

To be so consistently good to be picked 150 times, training well, playing well, what an incredible career.

Alun Wyn Jones won't ever go below a seven or eight out of ten game.

Will Rowlands has been one of the finds for Wales, there's life behind Jones in the second row.

Is it best for Wales' development for Alun Wyn to play today? No

But it is the right thing to let him have that accolade in front of his home crowd.

I was a bit shocked to see Alun Wyn Jones would be starting today.

That said it shows what the coaching team think of him.

When Dan Biggar was named Wales captain for the Six Nations people questioned his temperament, is he the right man for the job to lead Wales as captain?

But I think he's absolutely thrived as a leader during the Six Nations, he's been brilliant.

Often the last weekend the sun shines and it does feel a bit end of term and Italy will want to capitalise that.

If Wales are a bit loose and get carried away it might give Italy a chance to get into the game.

Italy need to be clever with their kicking game and pressure Wales, they want to get in the lead and make it difficult.

It's going to be a very interesting game

It's a beautiful day in Cardiff. Warm sunshine, not a cloud in the sky.

Wales' hopes of defending their title might be over but there's a pleasant atmosphere on the streets surrounding the Principality Stadium.

Walking to the ground, you get the impression that Welsh fans are quite looking forward to this game with the pressure off for their side.

The weather helps too, of course.

Of course I hope for a win but I expect more consistency from the team.

The last couple of games we put out a good fight and the spirit was there to achieve something but we missed the little details which can get you a win.

I'm looking for more game management from the scrum-half and fly-half, the kicking game will be crucial.

The Six Nations action doesn't stop this weekend.

It may end for the men tonight but the women's competition kicks off next week, with Wales travelling to Dublin on Saturday, 26 March.

Wales captain Siwan Lillicrap is hopeful she will be fit to face Ireland after testing positive for Covid-19.

Lillicrap leads Wales' 37-strong squad, which features fellow number eight Sioned Harries who made her international comeback in last Saturday's friendly against USA.

The Ireland game was terrible but they've had chances to win the other three games, it's been vital experience for the youngsters.

I think the coaches will be happy with the development and the depth they've got in the absence of some of the senior players.

  20. Wales 'working hard' to improve misfiring attackpublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

    Wales v Italy (14:15 GMT)

Stephen JonesImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

Stephen Jones is now Wales' assistant coach in charge of the backs and the attack.

Fair to say Wales have misfired this year's Six Nations. In four matches, they've scored only five tries.

That tally is in stark contrast to the record 20 tries scored in last year's competition as Wales won the title.

"I think we have played in patches," says Jones.

"We have played some good minutes in certain games, but are yet to have a complete performance.

"What I am happy with is the boys' effort and attitude in the week.

"Would I like to have crossed for more tries at this point in the campaign? Yes, but we are working hard to make sure our attacking game is potent."
