    Scotland 7-3 Ireland

Ireland wing Mack Hansen celebrates after going over in the corner, but it looks like Duhan van der Merwe has tackled him off the field.

But did the winger use his arms in the tackle? And hang on, has Hansen crept in?!

The Rugby Pastor: Luke Pearce is an excellent referee. He’s not pernickety, he tries to let the game flow, doesn’t allow the marginal calls to influence the narrative of the game. It’s meaning that there’s a great pace and flow to this game so far.

Another injury replacement. Ryan Baird comes on for Iain Henderson, who is off clutching his wrist.

A slack pass from Scotland and Peter O'Mahony slides in and kicks the ball all the way up into Scotland's 22.

Kyle Steyn just gets there ahead of Garry Ringrose, and Scotland exit.

    Frantic stuff.

Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan is off for an HIA assessment. So Ronan Kelleher is on.

Scotland counter ruck in their own half and win the ball back, and then Ireland fly-half Johnny Sexton doesn't release in the tackle.

Penalty Scotland and Stuart Hogg kicks them into Irish territory.

    It's superb attack from Scotland.

They get field position from Finn Russell darting down the short side, and then it's really good ball retention.

Then it's a great line from Huw Jones off Sione Tuipulotu.

A fully-deserved try for Scotland. When it comes to a box of tricks, Finn Russell is the full article.

    Huw Jones

Outstanding try from Scotland. Jones at it again!

After Ireland kick to Duhan van der Merwe, Scotland get on the front foot.

Some excellent carrying gives space in midfield, and Sione Tuipulotu puts his centre partner Jones under the sticks.

    Finn Russell adds the extras.

    Scotland 0-3 Ireland

    Chris Paterson

Scotland come alive when they get that ball wide, but the Ireland defence was up to it.

Both defences are being really challenged, in completely different ways - Ireland out wide, Scotland down the middle.

  11. Ireland hold outpublished at 15 mins

    Scotland 0-3 Ireland

    Great defence from Ireland.

Scotland go 17 phases with some excellent carrying from Jack Dempsey and others.

Eventually it goes to the left wing, and Stuart Hogg is tackled into touch.

    Good rugby all round.

It's three points compared to the seven they got earlier before it was ruled out. It was imperative Ireland came away with something with the pressure they had been exerting.

  13. 'Difference in intensity'published at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2023

    Scotland 0-3 Ireland

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio Scotland

You can already notice the difference in intensity between the sides. You can't see Ireland dropping a gear.

  14. Penalty - Scotland 0-3 Irelandpublished at 12 mins

    Johnny Sexton

The captain bangs over a simple kick.

A decent result for Scotland given the pressure they were under.

Jack Conan replaces Caelan Doris at number eight for Ireland. A shame, given his quality.

    Scotland 0-0 Ireland

Ireland claim the lineout and get penalty advantage.

They go on for an age, and then a massive pass out to Mack Hansen gives him the opportunity to go for the corner.

But Duhan van der Merwe pulls him into touch.

Back we go for the penalty.

Scotland's Stuart Hogg is hauled into touch after getting his fingertips to Johnny Sexton's kick.

Ireland lineout 6m out. The visitors turning the screw.

    Scotland 0-0 Ireland

Richie Gray has had to go off injured for Scotland already, so Scott Cummings comes on having not played much in four months.

Ireland number eight Caelan Dorris gets some treatment after falling heavily after catching that stray lineout.

He's back up and plays on, though.

Scotland made the error yet Ireland are penalised, which doesn't make sense to me. That is a tough call on Ireland.

It's such high risk, Scotland don't need to do that.

    Just exit properly.

  20. Try disallowedpublished at 5 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Ireland

    Ireland think they've scored here...

Scotland go with a crazy quick lineout 10m from their own line and it's intercepted.

At the second ruck Ireland plunge over through Dan Sheehan. But it's called back because the quick lineout wasn't taken with the same ball.

A reprieve for Scotland, and then they get a defensive penalty.
