Will We Talk? by Sam Fender plays off the demoralised England side.

When they do, there won't be much they'll want to hear, that's for sure.

    A shellacking.

    Matt Dawson

You look at the England bench with your chin sort of hitting the floor in disappointment. Aghast at what England have delivered today. There are no excuses. From the off they have not been at the races.

La Marseillaise rings out around Twickenham as Thomas Ramos is named player of the match. You could have picked four or five...

This will be England's third heaviest defeat ever and by far their biggest at home.

That French side have Shaun Edwards in their ears. Defend whatever it takes. They have to focus. If England score a try here they better not celebrate.

Marcus Smith does make a great break but has no support and is swallowed up by a blue wall. What a night to be a France fan in England...

Clean kill, untouched. France have done everything right. The detail is exceptional. Two slick passes, untouched in the corner. They are a high functioning team.

    Thomas Ramos MISSES a conversion.

    Damian Penaud

    It's a training session!

France have a lineout on one wing, wheel it out the back and then spread three passes across the pitch to pick out Damian Penaud and he goes in on the opposite corner. Untouched.

This is an absolute thrashing. Demoralising, devastating.

    England 10-48

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This is a statistic England fans won't like. Never have an England team ever conceded this many points at home.

    Damian Penaud

    Call it off lads.

Yet another score, a smart kick over the top from Gael Fickou picks out wing Damian Penaud up against a shattered Alex Dombrandt and the race isn't even a race.

Embarassingly easy for the wing to run in and score, with Thomas Ramos, of course, adding the conversion.

    England 10-41 France

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It hurts us all. We have all turned up today on our toes and full of anxiety which you channel. They have been blown away. They will be gutted the players but so are we.

    England 10-41 France

England make a bit of a dog's dinner of the setpiece and France come away, only for the ball to be returned for another infringement. Maro Itoje and Lewis Ludlam then both drop the ball at the same lineout.

  16. 'England players need a reality check'published at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2023

    England 10-41 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

I can't hold it anymore. As part of this England development and coaching going forward the players have to understand and have a reality check on what is good. Just because you have won a penalty under your sticks, don't celebrate like you won the game.

Mark Burt: Sometimes reality bites, and this is a savaging. England have been awful in recent times but this time they’ve added being gutless to their litany of mistakes. This is a collective failure of huge magnitude. Jones wasn’t the problem, it’s this rabble on the park.

A rare win from the England kicking game as they force a penalty from the chase. It's right under the posts as well.

Antoine Dupont is applauded as he comes off, presumably Matt Dawson is out of his seat...

Everywhere you look there is a long way to go for England, every ruck you know you are under pressure from every single angle. Going back to Antoine Dupont, I want to meet him. I want to have a photo with him. I want my kids to have a photo with him. He is that kind of player.
