Said: Reality check for England today. They are a work in progress, they need to take steps in the right direction and fast as the World Cup is around the corner. As for today they can't compete against the big boys yet.

England look like they can't wait for the whistle. The bad news is there is at least 15 minutes left and it could get worse.

When I was doing my prep for this game I was flicking through some of the stats and I flicked through the team sheet, when I got to Antoine Dupont I thought I really want to watch him.

That is the glimpse of him - he is like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zinedine Zidane...

Alex MItchell is caught on the ball by that savage French pack. No protection for the scrum half.

Brilliant again from Antoine Dupont, dancing through midfield, chipping the ball forwards and then landing a dime of a kick in behind even while sliding on his backside.

Marcus Smith has spent more of this game on his own tryline then at the other end and has to sweep up again to prevent another try.

England captain Ellis Genge is the latest to make way. A miserable day all round.

Part of the disappointment and frustration of watching this England side is week-in week-out in the Premiership we see heads up rugby, style and tries all over the pitch. But for some reason when we get to the crunch games, the level of intensity, England are left wanting. I can't see where the creativity is.

It has been an utter mismatch, it really has. Marcus Smith tries to get something going but the ball slides out of his hands and goes to ground. The bars will be filling up soon.

England centre Ollie Lawrence is injured and they don't have any backs to replace him. Just to put the cherry on top of this particular patisserie.

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You might be able to hear the pockets of France fans who are delirious. They are in groups of 40 or 50 and having the day of their lives. No French team has won here in the Six Nations since 2005. They are thrashing England.

I think France have come with a masterclass of tactical kicking. It has really paid off for them.

    Charles Ollivon

After lengthy discussion that is a try!

Charles Ollivon was able to reach over and touch it down. A battering in the rain.

Thomas Ramos drills in a conversion from a mile out in the driving rain, a knuckle ball.

    England 10-34 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

Marcus Smith was fighting for his life to stay up. It is just whether they have driven him over his own line. If he has touched it down it's fine. Oh it's a French try, Smith has presented the ball there.

Straight from the restart another great kick from France after a break from Thomas Ramos cuts England wide open.

Did France get the ball down in the chase?

    Matt Dawson

Unfortunately when we describe this there will be people saying we are moaning about England's kicking. On this occasion Antoine Dupont puts in an awkward chip and it was going to be bouncing anywhere.

    Very, very clever thinking.

    Thibaud Flament

    Ah.

It's a second try of the day for France lock Thibaud Flament, unstopppable from close in. It's a smart kick over the top which turns England around, and once a France player tips it back towards the number four the score was inevitable.

    Thomas Ramos adds two more...

    England 10-27 France

    Matt Dawson

Very tidy from France, they look threatening at every break of the line. Every ruck. Solid defence from England, well organised. It has made a difference having Owen Farrell in that defensive line.

After 10 minutes of England pressure now we see a bit of France. They keep the ball moving so well through contact and down the field. Thibaud Flament threatens to punch another yawning hole in the England line but the hosts just about survive.
