    England 0-0 Chile

Chile have barely had a touch of the ball but the crowd comes to life as flanker Martin Sigren punches a huge hole in the England line. The men in white rally to get back but they're pushed back 40, 50 metres. Signs of a much more open game today!

    England 0-0 Chile

Ahhh! England whip left, Owen Farrell and Marcus Smith link up neatly and the try is on, but Smith can't find Max Malins in the corner and the chance is gone. Signs of a new axis for England there though...

England force another penalty from the England scrum, which looks like a mismatch already. England again kick for the corner. Ramping the pressure up.

It's nice! England move the ball off the lineout quickly, Ollie Lawrence piles through the line, Marcus Smith then comes into play and puts a little kick through looking for Henry Arundell but it's well swept up by Chile. Inventive.

    England 0-0 Chile

Here is the flying wing Henry Arundell, he charges down the right but ends up in a bit of a cul-de-sac. He moves the ball out though and England eventually lose it, albeit it with a penalty coming for offside. England choose not to kick for goal, going for a lineout close to the line.

England will want to get the ball into Henry Arundell's hands not just early, but frequently.

It is really important that those who have not played in the World Cup get a good start.

The conditions are so good, this is perfect - lovely blue sky with a dry ball.

    England 0-0 Chile

A first test for Marcus Smith under the high ball but he's under no pressure and catches easily at full-back. Can England's backs have more possession and move the ball quickly today? Ollie Lawrence tries to flip a pass first time but it's knocked on by a red hand.

Well that's certainly 1-0 to Chile on anthems alone. Sensational version of Puro, Chile, es tu cielo azulado. I remember that one lighting up France in 1998 and it's a hit again.

Looks like another beautiful autumnal afternoon in northern France. The sun is out but it won't be anywhere near as hot and humid as it has been for England so far.

England are in all white today too. The teams are about to emerge!

    England warm-up

Owen Farrell is looking forward to this.

    England's warm-up includes a full 15-on-15 sparring match run-around.

All the tackles are gentle soak-and-smother affairs until Freddie Steward, playing for the red-bibbed replacements and squad extras, is floored by a solid Farrell shoulder.

No harm done. Might be some incoming by the time kick-off comes around.
