England 31-0 Chile
It's probably an afternoon where England cannot win to be honest. Thrash Chile and they should thrash Chile. Don't thrash Chile and they should thrash Chile.
Wing Henry Arundell scores five of England's 11 tries in Lille
Theo Dan and Marcus Smith also score twice
Owen Farrell moves to within one point of Jonny Wilkinson's record as England's all-time points scorer
Third Pool D win all but guarantees England's quarter-final place

CP: I agree with Jon! England are playing Chile (no disrespect to Chile). If England break out of the pool they will be very exposed. No teamwork at all.

Darren: Haters will hate but this is a Rugby World Cup tournament not a Test series. Confidence and some fluidity emerging. Still need to tighten up tackles and breakdowns - giving too much scope.
England barely kicked the ball away from hand at all in that first half, it's been a very different sort of performance. Food for thought for the coaches I'm sure.

Daniel: Playing Marcus Smith at 15 is like Red Bull putting a one litre engine in their Formula One car. Absolute waste!
What a brilliant individual try!
Owen Farrell has edged closer to that all-time England points record, despite missing a few very tricky conversions in that first half.
1179 points - Jonny Wilkinson
1168 - Owen Farrell
400 - Paul Grayson
396 - Rob Andrew
365 - George Ford
That's a game and a half of entertaining, exciting rugby so far this Saturday with South Africa v Ireland still to come.
A bit harsh Jon...

England look like a team who have never met each other, let alone played together!!

Marcus Smith's energy has been inspiring for the rest of the players, but every decision has not been perfect. His energy and the focus that he gives England inspires the team.
It was a lovely break and grubber through to retain the ball. That is the execution you want.
England 31-0 Chile
Owen Farrell curls the extras through the posts to bring the half-time whistle. Job very much done.
Marcus Smith (con Owen Farrell)
Individual magic from Marcus Smith! The full-back pops up in midfield, pops a beauty of a grubber kick in behind the Chile line, goes after it himself and is able to gather in and score in the corner.
Great stuff!
England 24-0 Chile
Better from Chile. England are offside on halfway and Chile keep the ball and build some pressure, however the pack win the ball back and force an error from the South Americans. 'Swing Low' booms down from the stands.

England are in third gear here, and this is a great opportunity to really step through those gears and get into fourth, fifth and sixth. They can start to enjoy themselves.
Chile are in trouble from three phases.

You can only beat what's in front of you and all that...
There's a real fluency and confidence in England's rugby at the moment though. That's the bonus point wrapped up already as well.

AP: This is still a really poor England team. They are falling off tackles left and right and the attack is shambolic as ever. They will get a real pasting the moment they meet any of the top teams.
Bevan Rodd (con Owen Farrell)
There's at least one gulf in class between these two sides and England are here to score some serious points. Marcus Smith starts this attack, England are held up just a few metres short and prop Bevan Rodd picks it up quickly to go for the line, and he gets over for his first try.
Owen Farrell kicks the conversion.

I love Marcus Smith and I love his endeavour but he is dying with the ball every single time.

Champagne stuff, that was magic from Max Malins in midfield, passing out of the tackle and behind his back. It almost leads for another chance for Henry Arundell in the corner but the ball doesn't quite reach him this time.
