England are going to put pressure on Samoa. Samoa need to have their scrum function really sharp, straight in-and-out.

England pick and run from a lineout and drive Samoa back metres and metres, dearie me that was impressive. Samoa then infringe when the ball comes out and England can kick it into the corner.

England's fans have travelled in massive numbers today.

England warm up at Stade Pierre Mauroy

Beware the bomb. England fly-half George Ford and his backline buddy Owen Farrell have spent a good five minutes pinging sky-scraping, spiralling up-and-unders towards the Stade Pierre Mauroy rafters.

Samoa's full-back Duncan Paia'aua is fairly new to the 15 shirt. He has only slotted in there from his more customary midfield role at the beginning of this tournament. One to watch tactically.

England prop Dan Cole on Owen Farrell's potential record: "Anyone who is in the same ranking as Jonny Wilkinson, you have to be a great player.

"For Owen to potentially surpass the point-scoring record shows you how good and how consistent he is with his goal-kicking and with his application.

"For him to be as good as he is for as long as he has been takes some dedication on and off the field. He is a leader, he is captain for a reason and he has shown his quality throughout the 100-or-whatever Test matches he has played.

"Hopefully at some point in this tournament he will get a chance to break the record. It would help if the wingers didn’t score in the corner all the time."

Perhaps the most (in)famous moment involving a Tuilagi in this fixture was back in 2005.

Two minutes before full-time, Alesana took out England wing Mark Cueto in the air sparking an old-school all-in brawl.

Tuilagi and Leicester team-mate Lewis Moody were both shown red cards for their flying fists.

    England won 40-3.

England head coach Steve Borthwick on ITV: "It has been a great couple of weeks, the players had a well deserved break to recharge and be refreshed.

"We had some real intense training sessions and this week has been an excellent week of preparation. It has been tough and physical as we expect this to be a tough and physical game.

"It is great to have players with such incredible quality in this squad, we are blessed with depth in positions. I am looking forward to all them players bringing their talent onto the pitch today."

On Tom Curry returning to the squad: "That back row is an excellent culmination with Tom Curry at seven, Ben Earl at eight and Courtney Lawes at six. You have speed, power and athleticism and that is what we are going to need against Samoa this afternoon."
