A team like Ireland you would think they'd back themselves but on the other hand this is a good way to go out. It's not guaranteed you win a Six Nations Championship. Win some silverware and as captain as well, it's a good way to go out for Peter O'Mahony.

The players are making their way to the trophy presentation, with every name being read out over the PA system received with a huge roar from the home support.

It won't be long before Peter O'Mahony is the last man up to lift the famous trophy.

Peter O'Mahony, speaking on ITV, says he doesn't know if that was his last game for Ireland but there are "a few chats to have".

"I don't know. If it was my last one, it was a pretty good one," he said.

"Thankfully we went out and did it against a good team. We showed grit, ambition with the ball, and I thought we played some good rugby.

"We spoke about getting stuck in, and put a lot of work in their legs. I thought the 10 minutes after half-time was really impressive.

"It's a huge honour every time you get selected to play for your country."

Jamison Gibson-Park, man of the match, speaking to ITV Sport: "It's a pretty amazing feeling to be back with our friends, family and home supporters. It's pretty incredible, especially two years in a row.

"It was tough going with two tough teams going at it. Our backs were against the wall a bit so I'm unbelievably proud of the boys."

Another disastrous second half. It's the same second half we've had for the whole Six Nations.

Nothing created till the end and too many errors.

Scotland really pushed them today and they deserve a lot of praise.

After probably dominating the first half, Ireland put a lot of pressure on Scotland in the second half and the accuracy of Ireland after the break made the difference.

Zombie, which has become the adopted anthem of Irish rugby, blares out from the Aviva Stadium.

The players are all hugging and smiling after that battle.

My word, they were made to work for that.

Scotland have battled so well but there have been errors at key moments.

They had to be error free for the last few minutes, but that last knock-on was game over for them.

It wasn't vintage from Ireland but it doesn't matter because it's another famous day for Irish rugby and they got the job done.

    Well, well, well....

Centre Huw Jones spots a gap and shows great footwork to leave James Lowe for dust.

He touches down and Russell converts.

    Surely not?

Scotland are going to throw everything at this.

With a few minutes to go why not?

They have nothing to lose and the replacements are bringing some energy as they seek to end the game on a high.
