    Frame 29: Selby 16-12 Higgins

John Higgins first had his name engraved on the World Snooker Championship trophy in 1998. He has got a lot of work to do to get his name on there this year.

It is a disastrous start in the 29th frame for him as he gifts Selby a chance. And the Englishman is already up to 13.

We asked where the drama was? Liverpool's Emre Can has just scored for the Reds against Watford, in a vital game for Jurgen Klopp's side's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

So, stay with us as well, as we will have drama of our own as well. Hopefully.

  6. Higgins miss gives Selby the framepublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

This miss from John Higgins was key as Mark Selby went on to win yet another frame this evening.

  7. 'Formidable Selby so hard to stop'published at 20:46 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

    Frame 28: Selby 16-12 Higgins

    John Virgo
1979 UK Championship winner at The Crucible

When Mark Selby is in full flow he's so hard to stop. It's hard to beat him on safety, hard to outscore him and now he has a spring in his step. He looks formidable.

But every credit to him to come back from 10-4 behind. He's playing with a smile on his face and the Jester from Leicester will be enjoying it. This is a virtuoso performance by the defending champion.

Thomas Jackson Kay: The Jester from Leicester has found his grove! What a comeback!

Dan Shewell: Selby is as ruthless as Hendry in an era when arguably the standard is so much better.

  9. 'Looking ominous for Higgins'published at 20:41 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

    Frame 28: Selby 16-12 Higgins

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion at The Crucible

Mark Selby is definitely sprinting towards the title. It's hard to see any other result at the moment.

You write John Higgins off at your peril but he's not been able to attack Mark Selby tonight.

Selby looked completely disillusioned yesterday, and outplayed, but somehow found the will and belief to win the last three frames.

  10. Selby moves closer to victorypublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

    Frame 28: Selby 16-12 Higgins (133-4, Selby 70)

Is there any way back for John Higgins? He looks a beaten man. Last night he had a 10-4 lead and was dreaming of his fifth world title.

The events at the Crucible have pretty much been a nightmare ever since. He has only won two of the last 14 frames.

Selby is two away from retaining his title. He dominates the 28th frame, taking it by a huge 133-4 margin.

  11. Waiting for the dramapublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

It is still 59-4 to Selby in the 28th frame. It is still goalless in the Watford v Liverpool Premier League match.

Not as much drama as last year's May Bank Holiday when Leicester when the Premier League title, before Selby won the world title half hour later in the best sporting day for Leicester ever.

    Frame 28: Selby 15-12 Higgins

Selby 59-4 ahead, 75 on the table. And Selby misses after a break of 54.

Anyone hoping for a dramatic finish, will be hoping Higgins can turn this one around. It has all gone a bit flat at the moment.

    Frame 28: Selby 15-12 Higgins

A bit of pinball wizardry (or a giant fluke) from Mark Selby as one red hits another one, and another one, and a black and vanishes into the pocket.

    Magic. Maybe.

It only leads to the one point scored though. Higgins then goes in-off and Selby leads 5-4 in the early stages of this one.

    Frame 28: Selby 15-12 Higgins

Don't worry, you haven't missed much in frame 28. Still scoreless. Some tight safety play going on at the moment.

Well, just as I write that Selby fails to make the thinnest of contacts on a red to gift Higgins the first four points of the frame, via a foul.
